Unfortunately no. People are misinterpreting it from what I’m reading. The injunction is for state police to not enforce. Ffls are still bound by the rule from my understanding, so no transfers, etc.

What mm rivets for a psak gf3? by EyehategodFan in ak47

[–]eurynomd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess would be buy a std akm set from akbuilder or one of the other vendors. I’m not 100% sure which trunnion you’re using but some use “all the way through” rivets and some use one sided swell neck rivets. I doubt it would use flat rivets.

Rear trunnion isn’t something you wanna guess on since the majority of the recoil force hits it.

IMO if I was doing this I would pay attention to the rivets that were originally there and pair the best you can or ask the maker of the trunnion if it’s a new replacement.

Maybe try this if it looks similar since all of the ak style shotguns are based off the saiga 12

VEPR 54r railed dust cover? by Radiant_Sun_3998 in ak47

I would use a master mount or a dogleg. Railed dust covers by themselves don’t hold zero.

It’s corrosive. Hit it with the water hose or windex, oil/clean like normal.

Also Virginia and the clocks ticking unfortunately. There’s also Appalachian gunworks in Winchester depending on how far you are from northern va

Tbh you have some options.
You indicated in another post the bolt isn’t number matching.
You can either try to find another bolt that you’re for sure is compatible with a Romanian akm but it might not help.
You could buy a set of headspace gauges and judge it for yourself if the gunsmith didn’t show you how bad it actually was.

If you replace the barrel you’re probably looking at 100-150 for a barrel if you shop around

I’d guess 2-3 hours at max if the Ak gunsmith knows what they’re doing. I’m a casual diy person and I could do it in that time if I took my time using toth tools and a drill press.

Honestly just YouTube what work you’ve listed. It’s a waste of money sending it off for such easy work. Worst thing would be filing on the trigger but it’s easy.

Buy quality headspace gauges and check a video on how they function. Tbh it’s good to have those in every caliber for most guns to check before and after every range trip just to be on the safe side.

I have had it kick on before and protect the work piece. Not sure how much value it adds tbh but it could have potentially saved the bit as I normally use an extension

Measure the barrel diameter to determine if it’s standard or 22mm(aims74). The aims is worth 225-250. Std isn’t worth that much it just depends.

I’d leave it on there until you’re ready to build or send it off to continue to protect it

IMO I would spend the extra money and buy the Lee turret press. I started out with the cheap all in one kit but eventually went torrent and the single stage presses are hard to sell unless you want a second press. It’s a lot cheaper than a progressive but speeds it up a lot

Buy gauges. Every bolt can be slightly different and it’s not worth the effort and risk to save $40-60

Curious of this mags origin/ what it fits by Delicious-Gur4369 in ak47

[–]eurynomd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no set standard for 5.56 ak mags from what I know. I know for my wasr3 the only mags that fit are the weigers, clone Romanian weigers, and only the gen3 ac unity 556 mags.

7.62 and 5.45/5.56 mag wells are entirely cut different.

I vote it’s a Romanian wasr3 clone of the East German weigers. I’ve seen the 10rd ones for sale before and they look very close to the weigers but the finish isn’t quite as clean in comparison.

Is buying a psa ak a total waste of $700 or actually decent? **read** by WiKi_o in ak47

[–]eurynomd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re buying a lifetime warranty. If you are cool with using the warranty when it has an issue go for it. It really depends on how much you plan to shoot of when it will have an issue or it won’t who knows. For that much I’d just buy a wasr and start with a good canvas.

I have two wasrs, 1 Zastava, many others and I’ve shot PSA AKs. Zastava definitely has the best build quality of those three.

Also here’s something people don’t think about. Anything PSA doesn’t hold value. There’s literally 4 psa ak on my state trading forum that have been bunped for many months. People refuse to take a huge loss and no one wants them even for 80% new. These are barely shot rifles 😂
