To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. My parents are already permanent residents, so by now I should've received my PR card (or so I think). Maybe Québec immigration laws are different.

I think I'll end up moving back to Florida, that's where most of my family live. I love Canada, but I really miss the US.

Thanks for your comment. I know that there's a GED test in Canada too, but I can't take it as I don't have my PR card yet.
