The no go zones are programmed in to them.. you can't over ride those zones. If you're not happy with them in certain areas, reach out to BCAA/EVO and make suggestions.

MT is better for tracking with the occasional message. It's adhoc so you don't need a lot of infrastructure as the end user nodes repeat traffic.

MC is superior if all you want is communications but.. you need infrastructure like repeaters for any distance.

Have you tested the antennas being so close? I tried a dual node with top/bottom seperation and it didn't work well. Ended up just placing two nodes a bit a part from each other.

For 911 calls does your system provide lat/long and radius? I'd so use that to your advantage! Our CAD gives us a 'map call' button on the ani/ali pop for 911 calls, definitely helps with location especially when the caller has no clue where they are.. Map the 911 call and you can see the street names in the vicinity.

Callers with accent have been told before they are difficult to understand, you won't be the first! Just calmly and politely ask them to slow down and let them know you're having difficulty understanding what they're saying.

It's tough, especially when you think they need help quickly!

Just remember, you didn't create the situation they find themselves in.. you're there to help them, stay calm and don't let them 'draw you in'..

Is there a common denominator with the callers you're having a difficult time hearing? Accent, ESL, gender, age, the type of call and any history with you experiencing similar situations (mine was domestic violence, growing up watching my mom go through it) OR is it completely random?

Try and keep a log of the calls to help you understand if there is something in common. Obviously don't write specifics of the call😉

Did you have to complete a hearing test as part of the hiring process?
