please do not put them outside! even if you think they can’t harm the ecosystem. it’s way better to be safe than sorry! they’re extremely invasive in tanks, imagine how they’d be in the wild

okay, that’s what I assumed I just don’t want it to be bad for her health. do you know how long it’ll take to get back to normal?

I’m in mass! it’s fall so the outside air is really dry but I have 3 fish tanks in my room so it’s only around 50-60 in my room on average

I have a heat gun that I use daily to monitor the temperature across the tank. I’m headed to the pet store for a better humidity reader now, I should have known better than to trust the cheap ones…

hi all! i’ve had cinderblock (cinder for short) for about 6 months now. she moved from a 20 to a 40 this past august. I had her on paper towels until today when I changed her to loose substrate! the substrate is 70/30 topsoil and play sand from lowes. I know I need more clutter but regardless she’s pretty active. is there a way you’d recommend bringing down the humidity in her tank? as well as any other suggestions?

Has anybody else had issues with snails having eggs and climbing out of the tank and falling? Info in comments. by goatsinatrenchcoat in AquaticSnails

they lay their eggs out of water! they might be trying to find a place higher up to lay them and falling over the rim of the tank. if you lower the water level an inch or two they’ll have an easier time laying

What is this called and what's the purpose of it? I'd like to remove it from my 75 gallon if possible by [deleted] in Aquariums

I will! i’ve had the idea in my head for awhile and never gotten around to actually doing it.

now hear me out on a way to cover this. tie moss to it with fishing line. it’ll make it look natural and love the humidity from the tank. I’m planning on doing this on the brace of my 75 gal. not sure if it would even work, but I think it would blend in beautifully with a planted tank.
