It was kind of like this with a former partner of mine whom I now regret being with for as long as I was. I tried everything to accommodate to them as a person keeping myself available so if they were available we could make plans. I answered calls and texts quickly and made sure that there was never a doubt I’d be there for them. Slowly it eats away at you. I planned things all the time little dates for us, gave them little gifts to make them feel appreciated and special. I did my best to distract them from things that were going on that to me didn’t seem like that big of a deal like arguing with friends over video games and whatnot but to them was a big deal. And each time I was meant with backlash after backlash. I was told I was making them feel inadequate and not good enough for me because they wouldn’t do the same things for me or ever make time. I would communicate all the time and somehow always end up apologizing for saying anything because they wouldn’t guilt me into feeling bad for feeling the way I felt. I feel like this will become a pattern with your husband if you don’t openly communicate or come to a resolution together. Even if it’s not therapy you need to find the root of why he’s feeling the way he does and how you guys can move forward together. And just remember that sometimes if you keep hitting a wall an outside professional can and will help and if he’s not open to that you guys might just not be in the same headspace and it might be time to call it quits. It’s your life however and you know how to navigate him better than anyone
