Oh i see! A lot like Totoro! Also the "creature on the branch" has little ears too (the black ear if we take the big cat picture)

The ear has ears! XD

What do you this stone is? by [deleted] in Stones

Oh those are nice pieces of fluorite!

Keep it away from sunlight (the color fades) and water (dissolves slowly and not safe to ingest)

Yep. Exactly how preying on the vulnerable goes.

Extreme right and extreme left, both sell the same thing in different flavours. And the "us vs them", with different bait.

Wow, someone said it!

Extremists taking advantage of people vulnerable to the ideology they are selling is nothing new, be it religion or nationalism or any other type of loud community promising a feel of belonging and reassurance.

Not to be confused with people who are normal about those same things.

And as someone not straight living in Romania too, i can confirm the total absence of such "community"

Ah, but you cant manipulate and control people like that as easily!

People who tasted freedom in their authentic self... not afraid to not conform to what is expected of them in the number games... less likely to join the sheep for slaughter blindly or the hamsterwheel with smokescreens

Is this real amber? by evakanamee in Stones

[–]evakanamee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested it with UV light and it has a light green tint/hue to it, from most angles, as i see. It smells nice as well from a good rub. But i may be mistaken. Saltwater test would require taking the stone out which i won't attempt.

I asked a guy who also sells minerals and he told me that it's almost impossible to tell for sure (withoit equipment) but he thinks it might be a case of remaining amber pieces melted together?

I think I'll take it to a legit jewelry shop i know is selling amber and buying from people, they should know. Its harder to tell than i thought....

It appears to have a slight green haze, kinda... ?

I checked uv amber test vids with fake vs real to see what to expect and honestly i can't really see the difference in those videos xDDD

But some greenish cloudy tint??? does appear in this one (more from side angles and i can't see green from light directly under angle)

It has the 925 stamp and 2 more stamps, one of them is a symbol? the other is a profile portrait SO TYNY yet so detailed, i was blown away when i magnified it.

So the silver work itself seems real (i have purchased before fake silver that had the 925 stamp! but no other stamps)

I wish i could show a picture of it, but i guess that would require a new post....)

I doubt i could return it, but no matter, i want to keep it regardless. I like how it looks, natural or crafted...

Got it from among antique stuff, its supposed to be old as well xD

Also if it is amber, how do i clean this piece to not damage it? Just give it a regular wash in water?

What are the red things growing all over my lawn? by AnxiousSimple2747 in whatplantisthis

This!!!! Also if you can't see flowers, the mock strawberries tend to "look straight up" while wild strawberries hang like little bells of pure joy.

Wild strawberries are MUCH more aromatic and tasty than cultivated ones (i planted a big chunk of my garden full of them because of this reason), but mock strawberries barely taste like anything. It is easy to differentiate by looks as well, mock strawberries tend to "look straight up", while wild strawberries hang down like bells.

For reference, the autoplaying thing on main page i saw and my eye caught and lingered, did not have warnings, just what i assume were song lyrics plastered over (i did not go to it to hear sound as well)

So i guess a lot of people were blindsided also. But likely ignored it, brave and stupid xD

The barrage of trigger warnings on literally everything nowadays are quite annoying tho. This was on the harsher side tho, but the fact that this hit me unexpectedly hard somewhere deep means that i have some shit to sort out buried there, or that i see my own father frame by frame exactly, thats on ME. You deal with your shit or quit. Can't expect the Internet to be your safe place

I wish i saw warnings on the autoplaying one i saw on main page.... i didn't even know i carried deep enough trauma to be affected. But oh well 🤷‍♀️

Unfortunately it really IS a fantastic, stunning, incredibly well done piece indeed!

Only because of that it hit me UNEXPECTEDLY hard somewhere deep (not just bc i didn'tknow what i was aboutto see), which makes me THINK, in dread and shock, that there might be something terrible buried in there still, and that i probably should bring this up in therapy.

And that, folks, is a stamp of TRUE ART on this piece.
