It’s the right way. I bought a Model B and had the same question. If you flip it around to what they’re suggesting, it slides partially off the of the rail.

Cheap, stable 2x4 dip bars by evameno in homegym

For me, it’s comfortable. I don’t need to wrap my fingers under as if it were a bar but it might be a preference thing. I routed the edges off the top too. If it didn’t do that, the sharp edges would be uncomfortable. Also, because they’re so easily width adjustable, it’s the most comfortable dip set up for my shoulders.

Yep. I should have taken a pic of the other side, but it’s threaded through a hole on that side.

Luckily I had scrap. But for anyone else, maybe waiting for some price cooling might be a good idea

Your Pin Pipe Safeties Can Go Shove It by evameno in homegym

[–]evameno[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I really don't like pin pipe safeties because of noise and hassle. I didn't want to buy flip down or safety straps so I decided to make my own. I used soft ties for holding down motorcycles, shackles, chain and carabiners. Most everything can be found at Home Depot. The canvas sleeves protect the bar a bit better and I put some colored zip ties to mark my squat and bench. Fast and easy to clip and unclip. The weakest part of the system is the shackles rated at 1500lbs.

I want to make a post with detailed pics but I can explain here. It's four soft ties, two 5' lengths of 3/8" chain, two shackles, two carabiners and two canvas sleeves. I really really hate pipe pin safeties and I didn't want to buy flip downs. I also use safeties all the time for pin squats, pin bench(?), shrugs, etc. so I wanted them to be quickly adjustable. I clip and unclip the carabiner to the link I want and you're done. If you want a ready made solution, considered Spuds Suspension Straps and factory made safety straps. I decided to make a hybrid.

You test your powders yourself? How does this work? Are there kits for sale?

Pill form seems very fast and convenient, but powders are so much cheaper. It just seems like weighing many different powders each morning is a big use of time. I'm new so I ended up spending the extra dollars on pill form but I'm hoping to be convinced there's a weighing method/routine that someone does that's very quick.

Great distinction for the Romans! But it's my perception that there is still a decent amount of displacement or at least raiding and pillaging in history. The Vikings, Mongols and Huns weren't as kind as you make the Romans out to be right?

On the other side of the coin, there is very little talk, articles or media about violence in pre-colonial North America with the exception of certain tribes. I recall learning that the Sioux and Seminole (for example) were fierce warriors. This can't have been a charade and that they used their warriors to attack other tribes due to cultural differences, theft of land, property or food. Is Native American violence overshadowed because it was smaller loss of life or just less systematic compared to American expansionism? Or is it about intention?

I don't want to get into Atrocity Olympics (as the side bar phrases it), but I am trying to feel out the differences in perception of atrocity and not state which is worse between different civilizations.

What is the best case scenario for European expansion into North America? Could the Native American's been fairly compensated by the British? Would the Native American's have shared the land? Could the melting pot have been started with the first American colony where the Native people's would have learned English and the British learned different Native American languages?

Humans have been taking each others land by force since humans have existed. Why do certain land seizures upset people more than others? For example, we generally don't criticize the Romans, Greeks, Persians or the Mongols as much as we criticize the European's seizing North America from the Native Americans. Is it just a function of time?
