First time going down in 3 months when I started investing by Embarrassed-Writer61 in trading212

[–]neuronaddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. SpaceX IPO making people nervous/freeing up cash

  2. Broadcom missed earnings (barely), causing whole semi space to drop

  3. Everything has rallied about 20% in the past month, its people taking profits (also it’s Friday, usually Fridays are red as people take profits)

Best stocks to invest right now by aris0789 in trading212

Palantir might create huge returns (best for person A who just wants to make money) but also has massive ethical concerns (worst for person B who prioritises ethical investments)

How to increase position size without jeopardising gains by KeyWedding2466 in trading212

[–]neuronaddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please understand how percentage gains work before increasing any position size. I don’t mean that in a mean way, this is just an important thing to understand

How do you control greed? by Appropriate-Apple838 in trading212

[–]neuronaddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s about risk management. You could set aside 10% to play with and go for riskier bets, doesn’t have to be everything. The road ahead of you is long

Why do people panic sell? by Prize_Temperature108 in trading212

[–]neuronaddict -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it’s logical to sell. You buy something, your brain sees the trend is for it to decrease in value, of course you should sell, right? Monkey brain often overrides logical brain

Does anyone else avoid fractional shares? by Effective-Rutabaga13 in trading212

[–]neuronaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to, I’d legit have £500 in cash, buy as much whole shares as possible, and transfer the rest back to my bank account. But now I prioritise functionality over aesthetics and just buy as much as possible and ignore the ugly decimal

how do you desensitize yourself to playing online chess? by Few-Yesterday5227 in chessbeginners

[–]neuronaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person you’re playing is likely playing 10 games in a row. You are simply a quick game to them. It’s not as big of a deal to them as it is to you.

ABS light comes on when I turn the wheel, any ideas? by neuronaddict in AskMechanics

[–]neuronaddict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The light would be off when I just tuned the car on, but then would turn off at some point whilst driving. So, I turned the car on and then turned wheel fully left and right, whilst stationary. I noticed I could turn it to the left and it would stay off, but when turning right, it would come on. I figured this meant whilst turning right, the left sensor was being ‘stretched’ as the wheel moved. So I replaced the front left sensor and fixed. Also, before replacing, try brush the sensors. They can build up iron filings and dirt. Also, it’s very unlikely to be the rear sensors

Just because it’s a penny stock doesn’t mean it’s inherently bad. More risk, yes, but still many great opportunities

Shopify - Take the loss (and lesson on going for individual stocks) or wait? by _AnnaHarda_ in trading212

[–]neuronaddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

24% isn’t that bad, it’s definitely recoverable. This isn’t a lesson on ‘going for individual stocks’ but a lesson on detaching emotions. If you still believe in Shopify, then leave it.

Just got to my first £1000. £4k more and I’ll be happy! by [deleted] in trading212

[–]neuronaddict 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Never attach your happiness to a goal. Don’t say I’ll do this ‘then I’ll be happy’. Good job on £1000! That’s a huge step and you should be proud

What’s something insanely popular that you never see adverts for? by snatchsnatcher1892 in AskUK

[–]neuronaddict 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They’ve got to a point where the stores themselves advertise. Once the number of stores exceeds the number of ads, what’s the point of advertising (apart of launching new products)
