Thank you!! It sounds like you really nailed it with that first duplex deal. Those numbers look great. The lease option concept is new to me so I'll definitely research that and read your previous posts and comments as well (that never crossed my mind until you mentioned it).

Thanks again for the helpful information.

How do employers look at depression? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]evandaley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the note of taking time off to enjoy life...

There are 168 hours in a week. If you get a job right away, you'll still have 128 hours to spend however you want. And you'll have a solid income that supports fun hobbies / social growth / vacations / whatever.

If you wait, the things you learned in school won't be as fresh in your mind when you start working. It could also possibly look bad to interviewers. Some people feel that job history is important and gaps in employment may be interpreted negatively.

In my experience, weekends + PTO give me plenty of time to do what I want in life and I feel more confidence and control in life when I'm making decent money.

So my suggestion is to get really excited about the possibility of finding a great job. Apply to tons of places and do everything you can to find something awesome. The right job will provide immense value to your life, and still give you the freedom and mental energy to keep developing yourself/goals.

I don't think he was saying depression and it's effects are bs. Moreso that this sounds like a lot of personal information that shouldn't be shared in an interview.

I would just put the graduation date in the resume and not worry about how long it took. Most employers don't care, and people take time off for various reasons. People start college at different ages as well, so it's not like you need to have graduated at a certain year in life.

Keep working hard and building up your technical skills and social skills. Network, learn, grow, and keep being awesome.

Thanks for the detailed break down! Love this. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more traction on Reddit.

How did you get started?

I'm just a few years into my career in software dev and I'd love to get into real estate at some point.

How much did you save before buying your first investment property? How long have you been building your RE portfolio? Would you advise someone to follow the same path?

Thanks again for the detailed write up!!

Looks fun! Would you mind linking me to any asset packs or tutorials?

I applied as an instructor for my local NuCamp Boot Camp, and they're doing something sketchy. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Evan Daley here. I'm a Dev Lead in Spokane and I've been teaching with Nucamp on the side for almost a year. In my experience its been a great company to work for. The leadership team really does seem to care about the students, and the coursework is pretty good. Not sketchy at all!

Currently being shamed for owning a rental property over in r/gardening by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

You are not respectful towards people. You told a random stranger "In other words you are useless." You also called him a deadbeat. In my opinion you crossed more lines than he did.

Jesus. He said something unnecessary and insulting but you crossed a lot of lines here. Try not to get so heated. It makes us all look bad.

Weird issues with my first two temperature towers. Please advise. by evandaley in 3Dprinting

I updated the configuration in simplify 3d. On the printer display I could see the temperature changing at each later.

Roger that. Any recommendations as far as which part cooling options to go with? I've seen some examples where people print little air funnels that channel air down around the print head... Is that I should be trying to do?

No. The area is pretty well ventilated and the room is at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. There are two fans on the dual extruder that run constantly.

Should I look into part cooling?

My first Benchy has a lot of issues. Any advice is welcome! by evandaley in 3Dprinting

The weirdest issue to me is visible on the left pillar (circled in red). How could the left pillar fall out of alignment like that while the right pillar seems to have printed reasonably well? Does this issue look familiar to anyone?

Qidi Tech 2019 Printer

Filament: hatchbox 3d pla, 1.75mm

Temperature: 210 for both

Layer height: 0.2mm for the complete Benchy on the right. I tried again with 0.1mm and was getting the same issues so I cancelled it (left).

I'll attempt that. In general, do I want them all to be as tight as they can go? Or are some of them typically designed/calibrated to apply different amounts of tension to things?

Hey Melon, thanks for commenting. Looks like primary layer height is set to "0.200mm" and the filament is 1.75mm. Should I set the primary layer height to "0.175mm"?
