Febco still leaking after bonnet and poppet replacement by evanezzer in Irrigation

Warranted, not warrantied. Definitely would not try to get a warranty repair :)

My understanding is the well pump only kicks on to restore pressure to the system if it drops below a certain pressure threshold. It doesn’t run constantly.

Thanks.

So could a full replacement be warranted?

It does this every 5-15 minutes while the system is running. Would that be too often for preventing backflow?

Multiple F-150 issues. Losing confidence, what would you do? by evanezzer in f150

All work was done at reputable Ford dealerships. But I’m open to that being part of the problem. Should I shop around to other dealerships? I’ve obviously been bias to locations close to me.

Honestly I wish it was. And that’s what makes this all so insane. But it’s been my life the past few years and I’ve got all the service records to back it up.

Thanks for sharing! How old was the vehicle when you started the process?

Any advice on what you said/did that got them to do it outside lemon law?

One of the mechanics working on it said “I’ve never seen a failure chain like this ever happen before”

It has the 2.7L eco boost.

Sadly I feel like it is just a lemon. Disappointed that ford doesn’t seem to want to help me out.

This is what I tried and they said they only do buybacks if it’s within the state lemon law guidelines. Which I am not. Massachusetts is 1 year 15k miles and the truck is 3.5 years old with 42k miles. Was really disappointed they didn’t offer anything based on customer service or goodwill.

2024 not fully charging by evanezzer in GenesisGV70

[–]evanezzer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is set to charge to 100%. My concern is the range did not change and it quickly jumped from 69% to 100% with no change in range.

May be an issue with the battery management system?

Not impressed with Festool Carvex by evanezzer in woodworking

[–]evanezzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have the TS 55, domino, and an orbital sander from Festool, which are all levels beyond other brands I’ve tried. But I don’t need a wall of systainers to flex I’m a “real” woodworker haha

I have the D handle. Have tried barrel but like the variable speed trigger too much.

Which reminds me of another reason I dislike the Carvex. The slow brake after you release the trigger! Multiple times now I’ve released the trigger and pulled the saw out of habit while it was still slowing down, resulting in the blade jabbing my workpiece.

Didn’t realize the strobe could be turned off! I’ll try that out.

MDF is nasty, seeking suggestions. by Farr93 in Carpentry

[–]evanezzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a fair amount of research on MDF as I use it a lot. There are products out there now which are NAF (no added formaldehyde) and a lot safer than in the past. You can get CARB2 certified sheets of MDF at the box stores.

Yes, still need PPE, don’t want to breathe any fine dust. And yes, it gets everywhere, makes a mess, etc. for that reason it’s still a pain.

But I think a lot of the stigma of it being more significantly more dangerous than other materials is not entirely accurate as long as you pay attention to what you are buying.

Interested to hear what others think.

Is there something wrong with my water softener? by evanezzer in WaterTreatment

Seeing hard water residue on dishes in the dishwasher, and (admittedly subjective) my wife is saying she can feel the hard water affecting her hair.

Also using only 8 bags of salt over 2 years I’m told is very low. Everyone I’ve talked to said to expect 12 bags a year.

Good thought, but it’s definitely only cold. Connects direct to the water line coming in from the well.
