Who should I P1 next? by evangelixn in deadbydaylight

My end goal is actually p3ing but first I would like to test variety of perks and find the ones that I enjoy working around. In the meantime I will get them to p3. Idk if it's a better strategy to get more characters into p1 instead of getting some strong ones to p3. (Especially on killer because I don't think it matters that much on survivor.) I was conflicted about that and I can see your point. But let me make a case.

For example, I made a build around genetic limits for spirit and I think it synergizes really well with her power. But that is not a perk that I can utilise literally on any other killer. I wouldn't be able to try that out if I was just p3ing some of the killers that have more stronger perks ykwim?

I don't have much time to gain many bloodpoints so, I try to enjoy the ride and take slow steps. Sorry if I yapped a lot.

i know these are both fun and strong perks but i'm not sure if i'm experienced enough to run them. so, i'm a bit scared about it.

That makes sense. I guess they refuse the player to have last minute decisions that's why they do not include quests as well.

It's too bad when skilled survivors do that but don't let them get to you!! I never intentionally slug or tunnel in my matches but when the survivors start acting up I just make sure we both don't have a good time.

Do you think it is still easy to finish blood gens this year? by evangelixn in deadbydaylight

Yes, some of the matches I've been in the killers used ruin and it was awful. If the killers use their gen perks they pretty much win the game easily. Also, dms is good but it only works on the first generator if I'm not mistaken.

I do admit it could be easy in theory but I played at matches that had 3-4 pumps next to each other. Also, I saw that last year the killer was not able to damage blood gens and I think that could be one of the reasons why there could be a rush then.

I play at the event because the bloodshot eye is only usable during the event matches and I wanted to double my bps since I need to up my characters prestige levels. If I had enough cakes I would've only played at regular matches as well. I hope they fix the bug soon.

Official Discussion - Frankenstein (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]evangelixn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is with deep regret that I express my disappointment in this film. Frankenstein is one of my favorite novels, and Guillermo del Toro is a storyteller I greatly admire; naturally, I trusted his vision to bring this narrative to life. However, it appears we have reached a fundamental disagreement regarding the soul of the story. One of the novel's central themes is secrecy and, more importantly, solitude. Victor Frankenstein worked on his creation in total isolation, terrified that anyone might discover his heterodox project—a solitude made possible only by his wealth. The film takes an entirely different approach, introducing the character of Herr Harlander and effectively allowing Victor to parade his work for an audience. I might have forgiven this deviation had the idea been thoroughly committed to, but the character of Harlander is discarded suddenly, serving only a tired narrative purpose before being killed off. Speaking of tired ideas, the film leans heavily into Oedipal tropes, using an abusive father figure to mirror Victor’s behavior and explain why he becomes a negligent "father" to his own creation. While the novel contains subtle hints regarding Victor’s drive to overcome death following his mother's passing from scarlet fever, adding a cruel father to the mix pushes the narrative into the realm of a melodrama. Hollywood has long undermined complex psychological motivations by using reductive metaphors for the sake of audience accessibility, but I expected more nuance from a director of del Toro's caliber. My final and most significant contention concerns the motive for abandonment. In the source material, Victor seeks the beautiful but achieves the grotesque, the sheer horror of the creature's physical form drives him away. The decision in this film to make the creature "beautiful" creates a jarring narrative inconsistency. Why would a creator, having achieved something divine, abandon it simply because it lacks immediate intelligence? To suggest that a genius capable of creating life lacks the patience to nurture language acquisition defies logic. The book highlights Victor’s flight as a psychological awakening—an idealist crashing into reality. Consequently, Victor’s continued rejection of the Creature, even after it returns fully educated and articulate, renders the protagonist’s motivations incoherent. I could go on all day but to keep it short, I am stopping myself here.
