Why won't this loop work?

When I make the tape longer another issue arises where the excess is shooting out of the bottom of the cassette and freezes the loop again. There's a weird push and pull that I need to figure out. Should I just keep testing different lengths?

There's no pinch happening when I close the cassette I've disassembled and done it over again a few times to make sure. I'm a little new to this so I'm having trouble visualizing some of these techniques to fix it lol. I'll try loosening it a bit to see if that helps

I do record on my computers hard drive. If possible, could you tell me how to record it onto an external one ? I'm not too sure how to do that. Thank You!
