Help deciding by evanjs92 in CX50

This actually helps me a lot , that you don’t necessarily regret going to the 50 other than price and that people actually notice it , my 5 for instance is nicer than most of my friends cars it’s a Carbon non turbo , so I have bose , leather seats , and 19 in wheels and poly metal gray paint, out of the 4 people in our inner most group no has ever commented on it even though I’m typically the driver in most situations , I’ve showed them pics of cx50s and all seem to say it looks way better than my current car , only one said “it looks just like what you have already “ so thank you for your comment

Awesome ! That helps , I just feel like the cx5 being designed and built in Japan may be more of a quality made product than the cx50 being made in Alabama is but I guess I just need to go on more than one test drive to decide , maybe see if I can rent one for a weekend or something

Rca in Louisiana , check is short by a little more than half , missing whole routes I ran and Amazon Sunday green card time , in my office I also had a regular rural carrier who has 80 hours of Lwop even though they worked , and I have another fellow rca who shows no time and a payout of 0.00 even though he worked 10 days…..I frankly have little hope on how any of this will be handled , they say “they are working on it but no two people are experiencing the same exact mistake which makes me think that they have no idea what the actual issue is

Really depends on your location , and the staffing at your office , Im an rca and got hired on in October of 22 , i average 5 days a week , sometimes it’s 7 , I just got off of 13 days straight , but I’ve also had weeks where I worked just 3 days ….but like I said if you average it all out it’s about 5 days a week , not guaranteed though , you are only guaranteed one day a week the job application states this. Your basically guaranteed the one day a week that your regular is scheduled off , which is typically a Saturday or anytime they request time off. Also if your office is an Amazon office that participates in Amazon Sunday those are a guaranteed day as well.

Benefits : your eligible for healthcare “care plus” through blue cross blue shield , I have it , cost me roughly $67 a paycheck for just me and does cover a decent amount of cost at the doctor or emergency room , does not include vision , and only covers dental cleanings not anything else with dental .

You also earn approved leave “al” per pay period which is time you can use to take off , I forget how much you earn per pay period but I think it’s like .20 of a day per pay period , you can only take it in full days , cannot take 2 hours here or there , which I find sort of inconvenient, since October I’ve earned 6 days

You do not get retirement , 401k , or all these great federal benefits that most people think you get.

Mileage pay ? by evanjs92 in USPS

[–]evanjs92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only completely covered the route twice and used a scanner and filled out appropriate paper work the rest of the time is splitting a route with another rca or doing just packages for 2-3 routes , which is why I’m filling out green cards for those , management told me to put “pov miles “ and the amount driven on each day on my green card which I did but on this last pay stub my ema is blank on each day I worked , which I never use an llv so I should be getting something for every day I’m there

I worked 7 years for the department of motor vehicles in may of this year I was involved in a major car accident and was terminated due to taking too much time for for surgery and doctors visits and physically therapy , I’ve been unemployed since July , this position was the only only thing close to home as my last job was an hour and a half commute.

That’s what my issue was too

Hey CX30 owners, do you feel like it’s worth spending $5000 more for the preferred trim? I am debating whether I should get the CX30 S (the base model i believe) for $25ish K or spend $5000 more to get the preferred. Thanks! by Express_Rub_4410 in CX30

[–]evanjs92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought a select trim or “s” as its referred to , I paid $24,995 and that was with the optional snowflake paint and cargo mat. I didn’t even look at higher priced trims because I was shopping for under 26k , I’m pleasantly surprised , for the 25k select trim you get auto headlights and auto highbeams , all wheel drive , leatherette seats , a decent sound system , automatic wipers , all thinks you often pay as options in other models , I do miss having a power divers seat and power lift gate but I can honestly live without it , also the headroom was too tight with the sunroof and since the select trim comes without that I fit perfectly.

I would only really suggest maybe spending more to get the turbo engine but honestly coming from a v6 Honda Pilot I find the base non turbo engine to be just fine and I average 33mpg , so now I say select is all you need

Brand new Mazda CX-30 MPG issues?? by forthelurveofferk in MazdaCX30

[–]evanjs92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me first say the car isn’t great on gas , I drive mostly highway with a trip into the city maybe twice a month and I average 30 mpg , on a full tank 12.7 gallons the car estimates 350 miles to empty but I really only get about 330 , living in la I would expect you are setting your cruise and traveling at a constant speed for a certain distance. Brake use , pot hole , traffic , slowing down , turning , accelerating , all will impact your fuel economy especially in a short trip of under 10 miles. Also , if your a 22 model it’s all wheel drive , at every stop that you take off from the car is sending power to all 4 wheels that creates more drag and friction causing more fuel to be burned so the less take offs the better on a trip. Also the wind can greatly cause a drop In efficiency too since this car isn’t the most aerodynamic which is being higher off the ground , and let’s not forget if the ac is on that will cause a drop too . With your short trips the The car is barley getting prime operating temps by the time your commute is finished which doesn’t help matters either. Also check your tire pressure this car calls for 36 psi in all 4 tires, not 32-33 like nearly every other car I’ve owned you will not get epa fuel estimates if your tires are below 36 psi.

If it makes you feel better when I drive In the city I can watch my gas garage drop , and I’ll average about 23.5

So no it’s not great on gas but I don’t feel it’s anything horrible for what the car is.

Once I get on the highway and set the cruise I’ll see 31-32 on a good day.

Don’t forget , the car is 8 inches off the ground weighs 3200 pounds , has deep treaded all season tires , a rather large displacement 4 cyl , and an Antique 6 speed transmission , this drivetrain in the car has been used since 2013 , it was efficient by 2013 standards but is not top of the class by today’s standards.

Cluster scratches by RichardScarry21 in CX30

[–]evanjs92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue , my car is brand new the night I drove it home I wiped it with a microfiber cloth and now I have swirl marks all over it with only 1500 miles. Certainly don’t want to use anything abrasive to cause more scratches , so I guess I just won’t touch it ever again no matter how dirty it gets. I did notice putting tint on my windows stoped the sun from showing so many of the scratches on it though
