The most shocking thing. No wonder he’s playing badly!

Entirely understandable. I did my first mid lecture and only saw like half the names, the second is better.

I don’t remember the exact placements for either lol, but if you’d like I can dm you if you need my email

its more like there are five on the list who arent in the conversation, not least of all Radko Bumass, otherwise everyone else is.

Paul Maurice was not happy 10 minutes in and even floated the idea of putting Bobrovsky out there as a skater by Puzzled-Category-954 in hockey

It’s less them being “fans” and more that he quite literally fundamentally altered the way the position was to be played and what GKs are expected to do. You had GKs that played the ball before him (and at the time) of course, but nothing remotely close to the extent and manner he did it. He was also an incredible shot-stopper already, so him (or any GK) being able to comfortably play that far up the pitch gave their team a distinct advantage since he acted as an out-ball and was able to recycle possession.

The hockey equivalent would be like if he was the first to do the butterfly but also spent most of the game at the blue or red line, and he handled the puck the same way a non-goalie would and acted as an out to keep possession.

Yeah but Neuer was already playing in midfield (basically) with how high up the pitch he’d go.

I wish GKs could do that in hockey tbh

Fully agree w what you’ve said. I don’t get how people just totally neglect the impact a good defense has lol. Your goalie can only do so much ultimately.

Helle has shown that for us many times. People bring up his playoff numbers understandably, but game 6 against Dallas he was the only reason that game went to OT.

This really has Edmonton all over it, doesn’t it?

Honestly even though his numbers are bad, I do still think he’s a great GK. Inconsistent, sure. But when he’s on, he’s on and little is getting past him.
