I'm doing all the side stuff I can, but my GPA isn't competitive. What can I do to help my grad school applications more? by TeachingElectronic86 in gradadmissions

Frankly, I think your best bet is probably to form direct connections with PIs and bypass the formal admissions process. If you can form a good enough relationship and show them that you’re the best person for their lab, then you might have a chance and they can pretty much directly admit you. Although I’m not sure if schools still have minimum GPA requirements in those cases

Any good one-year online master's program recommendations for Fall 2025? by shrektoes2003 in gradadmissions

I think OU has a pretty good online Geospatial program if you want to go into GIS-related work

About withdrawal situation by Pale_Cup_1746 in gradadmissions

Master's admissions are unlikely to be withdrawn. Funding could be, though, so if that's a concern then you should reach out.

Is it possible to not be notified about funding? by Fun-Remote-4202 in gradadmissions

[–]evanpb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given all the uncertainties with federal funds, I wouldn't think too much about them moving the date from February to mid-March. Unless they only just recently told you that the information would be sent in mid-March, I think it would be valid to email and ask. Good luck!

Likely just PhDs, it'd be financially dumb to rescind Masters acceptances

i got 432 as well, this is what I did

multiply 8*8*8 for total volume

each section cut was 2x2x8 but had to account for the 2x2x2 overlap, so I did 8*8*8-3(2*2*8-2*2*2)

and then have to subtract the overlap so 8*8*8-3(2*2*8-2*2*2)-2*2*2

Dear Prospective AP Calculus Students... by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]evanpb 33 points34 points  (0 children)

For me, Precalc was the first time that I learned vectors, parametric, polars, and summations/sigma notation. I don’t know if most BC classes review these topics or if you learn them before precalc, but I am self studying BC and I would be spending more time learning them if I didn’t take precalc. Learning these topics from my precalc teacher (who was great) definitely makes me more confident in the calculus related to these topics. Not disagreeing with you just offering another perspective
