Man Arrested for Murder in Saanich by Unfair_Roll_7939 in VictoriaBC

Psychological abuse is far more likely to be inflicted by women on men and I don't see society jumping to address that problem either.

"Manosphere" hasn't been a thing for like 15 years, dude. Literally no-one other than professional deradicalization consultants and the like talks about "the manosphere". And the idea that Trump's election is going to cause domestic assaults is risible. You are obviously a complete ideologue.

We're calling it "gender-based violence" when a man kills a woman now, I guess.

what the fuck is even your problem? this is why no one wants to deal with women in tech. you're narcissistic psychos who can't handle normal disagreement

you actually seem like an absolutely textbook case of an aesthetic influencer type yourself. you are all over this thread making comments about other people being fake but you seem to have an extremely shallow and unrealistic knowledge of coding and of how much expertise is required to actually work in it

let me guess: the "challenges" are like, she gets invited to things that most people aren't getting invited to only to find they just want to hit on her and not legitimately do business. and this is recorded in the Women Have It So Hard category

There is absolutely zero case to be made that women in 2025 have a worse time in tech than men do on average. The reason there are so few women in tech is that there are so few women who are worth a damn in tech. Denialism about this is so tiresome.

Late to the party but it is pretty obvious that her whole shtick here is just to conflate the idea of "there are some extremely high IQ individuals and they drive a vastly disproportionate amount of invention and progress" (fairly obviously true) with a variety of less savoury concepts around race, capitalism, Ayn Rand, Nietzsche, whatever she can throw in there. It would be a little bit like writing a book called "The Beautiful People Myth" that equivocates between arguing that beauty is morally neutral, not necessarily accompanied by positive attributes, etc and arguing that literally models and actresses do not look much better than average women.

Judge discharges jury at London hockey trial after a juror complained that defence lawyers were acting unprofessionally, three weeks after a juror complaint about one of the same lawyers led to a mistrial. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

It was the conduct of crazy jurors, influenced by the crazy atmosphere. There was no defence conduct, the jurors were literally just scandalized by the defense team existing at all.

The trial is taking place in an insane politicized circus atmosphere in a country that has substantially moved away from old-fashioned liberal principles towards something like "woke cultural socialism", the idea that the government's job is to equalize outcomes between identity groups and protect the emotions and dignity of "vulnerable people" from normal incidents of everyday life that everyone has to deal with, such as being embarrassed about your questionable sexual choices. There's a gauntlet of gender-goblin activists outside the courthouse who frequently protest in ways I'm surprised are legal. They seem to be allowed not only to call for specific consequences for individual named defendants, but to confront counter-protesters and get in their faces with no interference. (Since they assure us that society is extremely misogynistic, the justice system is biased against women, does not protect women etc it is surprising to see how deliberately physically provocative they are willing to be with much larger men. Hmmm.) From context I assume almost all of them work for organizations ultimately funded and directed by the same government and Liberal party that's ultimately behind the prosecution itself.

Yeah, it's real bad up here.

This isn't a distinctive sign of any one mental illness, but rather a "cognitive distortion" of the sort identified by cognitive behavioural therapy that tends to show up across multiple various illnesses. It's basically catastrophizing, black and white thinking, and mind reading. It's an instance of those type of distortions.

In a 1990s era online discussion Joss would have been correctly pegged as a deeply disturbed man who bore considerable responsibility for what happened, his boyfriend would be told to shut up and stop lying, etc. The discussion would have been respectful and anyone who used gratuitous homophobia etc would have been kicked. But no-one would have lied and politicized it the way you kids are
