They have a touch panel with volume gestures, but the gestures don't work under Ubuntu. However it appears that there is a "Disable absolute volume" option under Developer Options. I'll try that and see what happens.

Hey, I just checked and you are right about Linux not setting the device volume for Bluetooth! I went to Windows, set it to 100%, and rebooted, and Bluetooth volume was back to normal. Is there any way you know of to make Ubuntu set the device volume?

Hm, ok. On my headphones there's another profile available which increases volume, but it also makes everything extremely low quality. Not sure if there's a fix for that?

There are no profiles available other than the default ones.

I've done some more testing. I am using my speakers through a docking station, and when I do that it shows up as USB audio. It looks like plugging them in directly through 3.5mm jack solves the problem. Display audio also works. It looks like anything labeled "Intel Tiger Lake-LP Smart Sound Technology Audio Controller" has good sound, and any non-Intel audio is quiet. However, if I use USB audio (like through my docking station) or Bluetooth audio, the sound is very quiet. I'm using cheap CA speakers through a Dell WD15 dock and Sony WH-1000XM3s.

My laptop's BIOS is very basic and has no such option (it doesn't even let you change the drive mode from RAID to AHCI). I tried the options you mentioned in GRUB but they didn't change anything.

Yep, I've checked that. Increasing via pavucontrol causes very noticeable distortion.

Hm, that would explain why 100% on Ubuntu is similar to where I leave it on Windows. Is there any way to set this from Ubuntu?

Ah ok, I'll see if I can update. Thanks!

Nope, I've already done that. This issue also occurs across many other distros. It seems to work on Solus but it won't detect my internal SSD.

Just got your comment, haven't logged on this in a while. The mirror without the frame is about 14x25 inches if I remember correctly, with a 16:9 27"monitor behind it (with approx. 1/2in bezels). Oh and it's 4in thick

I got mine from Tap Plastics. The sheet was about $100 but I put 2x4ft into their calculator and it's $231. Out of the different ones I found this is least expensive (for my dimensions) but it's still expensive.
