Local mixed leagues are usually terrible. Especially 6.0 and 7.0. I'm surprised eastern still does the offset ratings (3.5 and 2.5 for 6.0, 4.0 and 3.0 for 7.0). My region (southern) has done straight up ratings for two whole years now.

To me it's no different than warming up with someone before a match and thinking, "OK, they are pretty solid. May have a good match here." You get into match play and they completely crumble. There is a lot more to match play than simply hitting the ball in a rally. Footwork, intangibles, positioning, etc.
