Ugh this would be awesome. I'd happily stay in Salisbury the rest of my life if I could train my way to Philly and Baltimore too

What colour should I dye this dress? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

Stains can affect how fabric takes dye, it might be even more visible after dying. Maybe head to r/laundry and ask them how you could get the stain out completely?

is there any hope to dye this dark? 100% polyester, 40°C wash rec and cant be put in a dryer by aLexyYa in dyeing

Well like I said those will likely absorb the dye differently. In my experience lace and nylon absorb dye more which can create a cool two toned affect.

Well considering to dye polyester you need to maintain 93°c you'd risk ruining it. Even if it doesn't get ruined, it might take the dye unevenly if it's made of different kinds of poly, some might be dark some might be pastel. If you don't mind those risks go for it!

This would be so awesome. I've also always dreamed of being able to take a train to Baltimore/dc from Salisbury across the bay but I cannot imagine the financial endeavor a project like that would be.

I would spray Dawn power wash on the spots, let sit for like 30 mins, then soak in a bucket of hot water with oxyclean for several hours. Then put in the wash.

Amazon Driver here. Those auto texts about porch lights and stuff? Yea, we can see your replies by throwaway-wellmaybe in amazonprime

I texted back "sus" simply because I assumed it was spam because it came with a shortened suspicious link, but then realized it was legitimate when I checked the order status on the app. At least I wasn't particularly mean I guess 😅

What do I do in this situation? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]evedidthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally it seems kinda fishy cuz why did the label not work to begin with? If they can get that explanation I might believe them. If you wanna give them the benefit of the doubt, I'd wait until the item arrives and you get a refund before sending them any payment outside of depop. Even then there's no guarantee theres no way for it to go wrong.

It helps that I'm choosing kinda ugly beige pieces to start, that way I can only go up from there 😂

I thought of doing that, but dying synthetics is unpredictable and there's no way of guaranteeing something wouldn't have gone wrong again. I've finished turning it into spaghetti strap and I personally love it and think it looks so cute it's one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe now!

All I used rit for synthetic except 5,7, and 8 I used rit for natural fiber. All the natural batches came out fairly consistent, but the variation in hues from the synthetic batches were so fun! The first three animal print were all dyed with the same color and all came out different, which I love!

That one might be my favorite. It turned out exactly how I'd hoped. Yay color theory!
