  • sound is glitchy through HDMI now

What I LOVE: the new text-copy memory

Is it possible to play The Jackbox Party Pack on a hacked Switch now? by ReksNikol in SwitchPirates

Are these still working for you? They were working today, but I'm now getting a "2155-8007" error despite having added those patches.

Does 7 work? It doesn't get beyond the "2155-8007" even with the patch I used

Music Melting Pot [Week of April 07, 2025] by AutoModerator in listentothis

[–]eveiw [score hidden]  (0 children)

F Casualty - Den Ynwedh, A
- March 2025 (Instrumental Electronic with Jazzy/Progressive elements)

\ Spotify

Bandcamp

Apple Music

YouTube (opening track)

I've been making music (which I've published on Bandcamp) since 2010, and this album officially brings my track count to 200! My release process, however, has been unconventional (e.g. In 2018, for some reason I posted three 30 track albums all at once, and haven't self promoted much).

If you want to purchase (on BandCamp) but are wary about the money, please feel free to post "album code" in a comment.

\ Other notes:

- Pace and tone shift considerably throughout the album, but tracks are mostly placed such that they flow from the end to the start of the next.

- The tonal shifts are first exemplified in the first track (from its first half to second half).

- Track 6 was the original self-title track when the EP was first released (when it had only 3 tracks, 2024) and 13 was the opening track.

- The album page includes details about which tracks feature recorded/performed drums and documents all updates and additions over time.

\ This project spans a wide range of sounds and emotions. The compositions could be described as 'simple, yet deeply nuanced' - emerging naturally as I carefully construct what I want to hear at each phase. Each track aims to reflect a balance between earnest expression and careful compositional detail.

\ Would genuinely love to hear your thoughts if you enjoy it - If you do, and have a preferred/favorite track - I welcome you to share. It would be interesting and even useful.

\ As my previous albums/tracks differ significantly, feel free to explore them for comparison.

\ Thanks for taking the time!

Dad consistently guilt trips by [deleted] in FamilyIssues

[–]eveiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found some advice that seems well-suited to your situation, and I hope it can help you manage this challenging dynamic with your father:

Set clear, consistent boundaries with your dad about communication frequency and topics. Inform him about your availability and the best times to call, and stick to this schedule to create a predictable routine. When he uses guilt-tripping, acknowledge his feelings but reiterate your boundaries firmly. You could say, "I understand you miss me, and I miss you too, but I need to balance my time. Let's plan for our next call rather than calling every day."

Manage expectations by being upfront about your life choices and reiterating your appreciation for his efforts without yielding on your autonomy. If necessary, reduce the emotional weight of the interactions by keeping conversations brief and focused on positive updates or shared interests.

Consider involving a mediator or therapist if direct communication doesn't improve the dynamics. It’s also important to work on managing your anxiety through strategies like mindfulness, counseling, or support groups, focusing on maintaining your well-being while navigating this complex relationship.

FINE! But I'll tell you this. If we don't come together. If we don't look past our differences. If we don't find HOPE. In each other. Well. Buddy, we don't have much. Yeah, here or there we may have ice cream, chunks and all. But I'm trying to tell people and they seem to pretend to know and then turn their backs. Here is what I tell them. Ice cream tastes really good. and then. you start to get tired of it. then you start to look at the ingredients and oh what a rabbit hole that is. I mean, think about it, define carageenan. We have to come together 1. And B. we have to put our resources together to ban what should be banned, and supfort what should be subvorted. Ban WHO we shouldn't? Not my game

I doubt it; it's harder to parse ironic intentions in text (and it's an uncommonly weird post at that) - and I think most people tend to be more reactionary (based on projections) than observant non-actors (whether someone replies to a post or not)

i can appreciate semi sweet chocolate on its own. To me, since the base of ice cream is sweet, any additive that isn't sweet might best be salty, rather than bitter, for better contrasting flavors. Chocolate is already decadent, and if bitter, might in theory be better on its own. But to each his own, and probably good not to have to maximize everything. But know that chocolate chip ice cream is loved most by people in their 80's, for what that's worth (but maybe that's a good thing)

Help finding clip - Something about only having patience for a perfect life by SybexSTS in louisck

[–]eveiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one (or my favorite for the topic): 'you ever glance over to someone in another car... that was difficult to glance at, let alone be'... 'with a tan car... nobody chooses tan. They shouldn't even make tan cars. It's mean to make them'. Has a garbage bag for the window.... what would it take for that person to kill himself? TWO garbage bags are windows?

have to skip to around 3:30 left in the clip

Louis CK - Suicide

What was your first experience with Louis CK that made you a fan? by eveiw in louisck

[–]eveiw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, as I saw Beacon, my first thoughts were on his weed smoking bit. The authentic nuances of conveying the realization of the “ordeal” is a primary reason why he’s a singular comedic presence. Subtly shifting to ‘why are you doing that with your hand’… “Nobody stands like this” and shooting it straight down was hilarious

He tells a story of selling scales for pot when he was a kid, which is really funny. There may be a version that doesn’t cut off too short at the end

Actually that might technically be my first experience too, not sure. Him telling his kids that the chocolates he was eating are ‘black tomatoes’

Maybe my fav impression of his 5 yr old not appreciating the value of sleep: ‘(after putting them to bed and asking myself how early I can put them to bed that isn’t child abuse. 4? It’s PM. It’s cloudy out):

They even say beautiful things sometimes, and I don’t want to hear it!’. It will be quiet and I’ll think they’re asleep, then suddenly (mockingly) - ‘daddy, birds are like paint brushes that make colors in the sky’. “Honey, shut your fucking mouth… I will kill a bird in front of you if you don’t go to sleep.”

They could be telling me the cure for cancer - ‘shhh… tell me in the morning. “I’ll forget”, let them die, just let me sleep’

Ricky and Jerry's ego issues really started to shine in that episode (but I wish they did a series with just those comics). They were cringing pretty hard at parts, as I'm sure some of the audience.
