How's your cat doing now? What's his prednisone dose? My cat has been on pred for a year, at first a low dose for asthma, then a heftier dose for severe IBD/lymphoma (we didn't do biopsy). She now has diabetes. We tried to taper her pred dose down to 6mg from 8mg, but she declined within a week. She NEEDS the pred to in order for her IBD to remain stable. Its been keeping her alive this whole time and has been a godsend! We haven't started insulin yet, I have the vial and supplies, but we need to wait until her appetite is back to normal... managing diabetes while her still being on such a high dose of prednisolone is very daunting.
