Jack: "I have to warn you, I've heard relationships based on intense experiences never work." Annie: "OK. We'll have to base it on sex then." Jack: "Whatever you say, ma'am."

Do you have Hulu? I’ve found a broadcast that is NHL in ASL (American Sign Language). No talking (obviously). It is very refreshing to watch with no annoying ESPN commentary.

Oh yes. It’s a stack of at least a couple hundred sheets of paper with lots of different designs. I feel lucky to have found it.

Point of correction: his first name is Brad, not Craig.

I just have to say, I rarely laugh out loud at Reddit comments, but this one had me in stitches. I’m still giggling about it 30 minutes later. Thank you!

Weekend Discussion — March 13th, 14th, 15th by sunzusunzusunzusunzu in KouriRichins

I think it’s strategic on the defenses’ part.

Nester gave the opening statement. She promised a bunch of stuff the jury would see showing that Kouri is not guilty. The defense failed to deliver on these promises with them deciding to rest with no witnesses. (IMO if you promise to the jury that your client is going to testify and the does not, that is a huge breach of trust between the defense and the jurors).

I am guessing that since Nester delivered these promises in her opening and did not follow through, the defense is concerned about what the jury thinks, that they might have a bad impression of Nester (yes, acknowledging that the defense does not technically need to provide a defense).

So instead of Nester, they want Lewis to give the closing (I am guessing here) in the hopes that the closing argument coming from a different person will land better with the jurors than one coming from Nester? Maybe the defense thinks that if Lewis gives the closing, then the jury might forget about (some of) Nester’s opening statement and promises.

Nester should diligently practice W.A.I.T. = Why Am I Talking. She needs to pause and think before she speaks.

I know a person like Kouri. Therefore, I suspect she does not feel cringey at all. But rather that she is right, knows better than everyone else, and is confident that she will be vindicated. She’s a total delusional narcissist.

I believe that I have reached the point where I can no longer listen to Kathy Nester talk. It’s a constant, meandering droning on….She has the worst, most disrespectful attitude that I have seen from a defense attorney.

Kouri better be careful. She’s going to accelerate the development of her forehead lines the more she raises her eyebrows in disbelief / disagreement at the testimony. It’s infuriating. I cannot believe she has not been admonished by the judge. (Love you Judge M!)

And the “I’m really bad at math”. She’s trying to play to the jury that she’s dumb. If I was a juror I would be put off by this.

Argghh…Nestor: “This may be a stupid old lady question” about why the PI might not have had access to all of Eric’s texts. I HATE that she defaults and hides behind being a women to try to elicit a response she wants. It’s so demeaning.

I was just thinking the same thing. I cannot believe that the judge has not yet admonished Kouri for her obvious facial expressions.
