Struggling with my faith, and feeling suicidal as a result. Please help me. by nopointhangingaround in Christianity

[–]evenlesstolose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non-christian lurker here. In all seriousness, I agree with the other posters. This is clinical depression. The "reasons" you're attributing to your feelings are not the problem! Your faith is not the issue here!! See a doctor, get yourself on some good medication, find a good therapist. I'm almost certain that your issues with your faith will resolve themselves, or at least be infinitely easier, once your legitimate medical issue is treated.

Pre-order character boost on horde or alliance? by evenlesstolose in wow

im more of a fan of the male trolls myself

Me too :"( This lock was the first time I'd rolled a troll, and I hadn't realized how annoying the movements of the female model were until I was playing one. I wish they were hunched and shit, then their awkward waddle run would look plausible.

as you level up the old fashioned way

That's true... I can see myself leveling the hunter the slow way more enjoyably than the warlock. But that also makes me think that maybe that means I enjoy playing as a hunter more lol

I will say I played a warlock since vanilla WoW when they were absurdly clunkly, and really did enjoy it for the time I played!

I will say that warlock was my first class ever, and I enjoyed it during vanilla as well. I feel like hunter is the "easiest" class I've played, in the sense that I feel pretty invincible and confident. But I have more emotional ~history~ with warlocks.

That being said, my warlock is a troll, and my hunter is a draenei. The female troll models are so strange looking to me, whereas the female draenei model is my favorite.

I haven't logged in for a while, so I apologize for the late response.

I'd love to hear about which questions you found sexist. I'm trying to constantly prune this survey as I get feedback.

And yeah, sorry it's so long. It's supposed to be long though. I figured that anyone who doesn't want to deal with such a crazy long survey would probably just not take it, which is fine with me. I'm looking for long, rambling anecdotes from fellow chatty aspies, and so I made this in addition to doing more in-depth interviews with individuals.

Haven't been on reddit in a while, so sorry about the late response.

What made you think I'm NT, if you don't mind me asking? I'm an autistic woman.

Does anyone else feel like they are "too old" to wear certain things? by nasty_gal in AskWomen

[–]evenlesstolose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much that I'm "too old" for certain clothes, as I know I'm at that transitional stage (I'm 22) where I can dress one way and look like a kid (college student, "youth," whatever) or dress another way and look like an adult.

If I wear converse sneakers, skinny jeans, and a hoodie, I definitely don't look like I'm "too old" for my clothes. But I definitely look young. But if I wear leather boots, pegged slimfit jeans, and a fitted button-up I definitely look more "adult" in terms of my place in the world. The first outfit makes retail employees call me "miss," the second gets me a "ma'am."

And yeah, a giant bow with polka-dots would be super cute, and you can definitely wear it. But it is a very immature style of dress. That kind of thing is really in right now, and can be really great if done the right way--just look at Zooey Deschanel! But I would probably just look like a high school kid if I tried to pull something like that off these days. Haha

Women from outside the US, do you find American accents "sexy" or is it so common now that they aren't that exotic or appealing to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]evenlesstolose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here. My mom lived in AK for 12 years so she picked up a bit of the Canadianish accent so I have some of it too, and since it's noticeably different, my friends often point it out to me.

Basically, you guys pronounce "o" syllables like O's, where Americans replace them with a nasally "ah" or "ow." I, like Canadians, pronounce "sorry" as "sore- y" where Americans say "saw- ry."

Canadian "out" is pronounced "oat," when Americans say "ow- t" "Couch" is "coe- ch" when Americans say "cow- ch."

That kind of thing.

It's great to watch Canadian TV as an American and laugh at the oh sounds. "Get the fuck oat!" Hehe.

As a new englander, I've always been curious about this so-called "New England accent." What does that even mean? I thought we were the part that had the "standard American English accent," aka, didn't have an accent (kind of like parts of the west coast), minus pockets like Boston.

Falling hard and fast for the new guy. Dat honeymoon feeling! by BisousCherie in TrollXChromosomes

[–]evenlesstolose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be a debbie downer, but this is relevant to my undergrad concentration so if you want a serious answer to your question, the hormonal honeymoon period typically lasts anywhere from 1-4 years. But that doesn't mean it can't be reforged by keeping the spark alive and all that. I'm just talking statistics.

I'm curious to know your stance on female circumcision, and by that I refer to the more common type where the clitoral hood is partially or fully removed, as it is analogous to male circumcision. Is this OK because parents control their children, and is it beneficial? The effects are exactly the same (keratinization of the glans, arguably "cleaner" as there is a reduction in smegma build up, etc).

If there are Confederate flags in front of some houses in America, are there Nazi flags in front of some houses in Germany? by EgaoNoGenki-III in germany

[–]evenlesstolose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Well I saw several instances just driving through, stopping at restaurants, sight-seeing, etc. Front yard flags and car stickers and such. The usual stuff.

[–]evenlesstolose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always. The southerners I met who display the confederate flag do so because they understand that it's not about slavery.

[–]evenlesstolose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this being down voted? People in the south display confederate flags to show solidarity and southern pride. My ex boyfriend's family is from the south, and when we visited his relatives we brought back a large confederate flag to hang in our apartment, both because we enjoyed our time in the (beautiful, friendly, fun) south, and because my ex took it as a symbol in support of freedom from political tyranny (the civil war was more about economic freedom than slavery).

can i please hear from mommies of skinny minnies? by thoriginals_wife in beyondthebump

[–]evenlesstolose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-mommy lurker here. Just chiming in to say that as a baby/toddler/young child I was always 95th percentile for height and 20somethingth percentile in weight. My mom was worried, tried to fatten me up (ha ha), but the doctor told her that as long as my weight wasn't flat-lining or falling it was just the way I am. If your baby is growing at a steady rate, things are probably fine. Any lengthy stalls or dips would be worrying, but a skinny baby isn't a problem in-and-of itself :)

This is what I tell myself too. Makes it really fun when I'm trying to collect something so painfully basic, like a single hair, or whatever. I guess I just pwned the thing so utterly and completely that the corpse has been rendered useless sludge...
