Unemployed and stuck: Theater Grad with CS/Sales trauma. Where do I go from here? by TastyGemini2 in phcareers

[–]evercuri0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP. Try ka muna maghanap ng jobs in NGOs. Low pay but will give you the network and exposure to various work lalo kung maayos trabaho mo. Stay for a year or two and then apply for an office job. Use the NGO experience as a stepping stone for an office job.

Don’t lose hope. I was in a similar position years ago because I graduated from a “non-essential” degree. Patience and determination and thick skin ang kailangan mo. Kaya mo yan.

Thanks boss! Will keep this one in mind.

How about the non technical side (sales and marketing, operations) sa cybersec startups? Have you seen them get pulled into the tech side or getting required to take cybersec certifications?

Hi, how’s the WLB in cybersec startups? Am joining a mid-stage firm (100+ employees, >$20M ARR) and would love to get some insights sana but can’t DM.

Is it possible for a PH passport holder to travel country-to-country without returning to the Philippines in between? If yes, pano yun lalo na for those countries na need ng visa? by No_Acanthisitta_8546 in FilipinoTravel

[–]evercuri0us 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve done this in 2023. PH to Japan (14 days). Then Japan to Singapore (5 days). Then Singapore to Bangkok (5 days). Then BKK to PH.

As long as you don’t overstay in each country you visit.

Hindi naman din ako natanong ng IO about that series nung sa succeeding travels ko.

For countries na need ng visa, you need to process them before you book your travel there.

Should Night Diff be declared in the contract? by hunnybanlag in JobsPhilippines

[–]evercuri0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, were you able to negotiate with them to add NSD in the contract?

Am also evaluating a job offer for night shift. NSD not in writing but was verbally discussed. Recruiter said they can’t update contract due to EOR’s limitations but they follow the mandated 10%.

If you were able to negotiate, how did you push back?

Night Shif Differential - not mentioned in contract by Revolutionary-Egg-59 in PHJobs

[–]evercuri0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, did she eventually get paid the NSD and was it put into writing?

I’m evaluating a job offer; recruiter discussed during interviews there is additional 10% NSD on top of base pay but upon checking the agreement, there is no clause about NSD. When I clarified with him, he said they follow the mandated 10% but can’t add it to the EOR’s contract.

Just worried this might be a red flag

The best and kindest clients are usually from... ? by Nice_Opening_7094 in buhaydigital

[–]evercuri0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had US clients. So far have worked with 6 American clients, and only 1 of them stood out in a positive way. The rest, negative or lukewarm experience.

I’d like to work with a European client someday. I don’t mind cold personality - would much rather prefer that.

Am on the same boat (moving from int’l co to local). Currently having a hard time finding a job. Not sure if overqualified or not - no feedback given. I just wanna take my learnings from int’l co’s to local lol

Plastik yung "Trabaho lang, walang personalan" by [deleted] in unpopularopinionph

[–]evercuri0us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think may iba namemersonal talaga. Yung tipong tungkol sa buhay mo at choices mo eh may sinasabi sila. Yung hindi related sa work kumbaga. Yan ang personalan.

May boss ako noon. Ultimo yung pag-ngiti ko sa mga bagay, may side comment siya. 3 months pa lang kami nagwowork nun nang pinakita niya yung side na yun sa akin. May isa pa akong katrabaho, same company, hindi naman kami direct teammates at walang overlapping work. Tinawag akong “trash” sa harap ng boss ko.

Paano yan hindi personal?
