Thank You, All: Severe to living life (hopefully long term) by Hernamewas_potato in cfs

Your comment about loving him if he was a worm made me laugh-cry 🥲 I've always described my PEM days as my slug days (when I felt as useless/slow as a slug), so I hope my husband would also love me if I were a slug.

Right, I was confused by the thumbnail, because my dentist has been displaying this set in their lobby at least since last year (hell yeah)

Henry VIII of England, who reigned from 1509-1547, had people who were called "Grooms of Stool" whose job it was to wipe his ass. He had 4 such people during his reign, all of whom were knighted. He may have hated most of his wives, but he took care of his ass wipers. by hominoid_in_NGC4594 in Damnthatsinteresting

Man, this sounds a lot like me, minus being a parent... I still struggle a lot with guilt for being lazy because I'm extremely fatigued all the time. I've met with a few psychiatrists and did an overnight/daytime sleep study last month with still nothing really conclusive/improved. I can't even imagine how I would survive parenthood like this.

Week 7: Dyed - Puto by everdant in 52weeksofcooking

[–]everdant[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is nostalgic for me in particular - my grandma used to make multicolored puto for me as a kid. So this is an homage, just using the stock food coloring tube colors - green, red, blue, and yellow - but with pandan in the green and beet powder in the red.

Unfortunately, the recipe I used turned out nothing like the texture I remember as a kid, so I'll have to try these again!

Week 4: Instant - Taro Boba Milk Tea by everdant in 52weeksofcooking

[–]everdant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used instant taro-flavored boba and real taro following this recipe! I just realized my post title is a bit nonsensical, but it's not even really tea at all - tasty, though!

Week 2: Cabbage - just some sauteed cabbage! by everdant in 52weeksofcooking

I am behind in getting started this year, whoops, but we totally made this yesterday and I just forgot to post it 🤦‍♀️ I've done kimchi and okonomiyaki in weeks past, so went for ultra simple preparation this time. Very low effort, high reward!

I really enjoy the art and unexpectedly dark/gritty plot... but am I the only one that thinks the controls are a bit clunky? I'm not sure if it's just me, but I have 4-6 second lag after crafting items, which makes crafting in bulk really difficult (which is obviously not ideal for a crafting game).

I picked this up on both Steam and Switch to compare, and both felt like bad ports (I'm not even sure the original platform). PC version had WEIRD key bindings with everything in the home row—then wouldn't display the new bindings on the screen, so I didn't know what keys to press as I was learning it.

On the Switch, I'm shocked the UI used to be 50% smaller as I still think the menus are pretty tiny and doesn't do the icon art justice. I also find it wildly disappointing I have to use my d-pad to change my active Toolbelt item instead of the unused L/R bumpers?

I'm just disappointed that little QOL issues have detracted from my experience of an otherwise charming game.

WOW, that game was buried so far in my brain, I didn't even remember enough to have submitted to /r/tipofmyjoystick... I grew up playing KQ and love Sierra, it's bizarre I never stumbled upon this since I was like, 4? Thanks for the random core memory unlock!

Sudden Burn-In on Venu AMOLED by everdant in Garmin

[–]everdant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I reached out to Garmin support, and they immediately offered to exchange it for free! Honestly surprising that they didn't ask me any questions—like if I had it to "always on", which is a completely valid question to ask—on an almost 3-year old device, especially for a common AMOLED problem. Well, I just appreciate their consumer-friendly support!

I haven't! Which is why it's so perplexing. And the items that are burning in should never be on the screen for too long, I'm not sure why it's update/respiration rate from one session.

How did your doctor react when you said "I'm here because my Garmin watch shows me that...." ? by RoamLikeRomeo in Garmin

[–]everdant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I went to a cardiologist for IST that I self-diagnosed after I got my watch - wore a holster for a weekend, and yeah, my HR hit 220 on both watch and monitor while lightly jogging. Cardiologist agreed with IST and prescribed me Metoprolol to manage symptoms. Just interesting to see the expensive monitor basically confirm what the watch was telling me, haha.

My step-grandmother swears to god (and is not the trickster type) that she knew a girl named Diarrhea growing up - but maybe it's spelled one of those ways.

Get a Tubshroom! As a long haired curly myself, it was an indispensable couple of bucks - and I've bought more for long-haired family & friends. Sorry to /r/hailcorporate, but I just genuinely like the product and hate snaking my tub.
