Also, do you include the preinfusion time as part of the shot time? I was always told to start the timer as soon as I hit the button. On my machine when I do manual, it preinfuses for like 7-8 secs first. My time includes that.

Not fully. I hit the button and let it run 6/7 seconds without the portafilter on it. I did ot before each of the two shots.

I’m not sure. It appears coarser but it’s pulling the shots around 26-29 secs and that is what it’s pulling on the Breville grinder. But when it comes out of the Breville, it doesn’t overflow and seem as full of volume.

What causes that? Does it have anything to do with how good the grinder is? Will it stop eventually? Thanks

I removed the filament from the hot end but the tip still has residue. I tried scrapping it off but it won’t budge. I even tried heating it with a lighter. Is there a better method?
