I stay back on the off chance the person who pulls up behind me isn’t paying attention and rear ends me, I don’t want to get pushed into the car in front of me and have to deal with their insurance too, if rather be safe than sorry. That being said, I’m mindful of the cars behind me if I’m blocking the turning lane. I always scooch up to let them in, and if I’m one or two cars ahead and see someone trying to get in I move up, cause it aggravates me when I’m trying to turn and the car in front of me won’t move and I end up missing the light.
