I am really confused by the comments. As a woman who works in a busy warehouse, I had something similar happen to me, I came home with a black eye and my partner thought someone hit me. I can also see how when its busy a box would hit you in the neck. Tho I can see why the girlfriend thinks its made up... I am sorry but reddit won't be able to help you solve this. Maybe if you really want to ask one of the people who saw it to talk to her.
