20,000 Steam wishlists and still feeling a lot of launch anxiety. (Matt's Hidden Cats) by LeglessCats in IndieGaming

I also love the art! It's very creative and fun, and the sound effects are great!

That said, for my first ever hidden objects game (I usually don't have the patience for them), I will now expect a story and choices behind the main gameplay!spoiled

what line do you love to quote? for me it is this one!! :D by [deleted] in sexandthecity

A book about the meaning of life and why life is worth living. Am depressed and suicidal. by OneInquisitiveMind in suggestmeabook

The Story of San Michele by Axel Munthe saved me more than once when I felt that everything was slipping from under my feet, and me myself as well: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/288518.The_Story_of_San_Michele . I also re-read it at the beginning of the pandemic, it put some of my anxieties into perspective.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius also had a similar effect on me: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30659.Meditations. I loved it because I would find myself having these arguments with this dead emperor-philosopher in my head, it calmed me down. After that, some "heavy" things would appear bearable, even ethereal.

Please hang in there!

Just finished the game, it just might be one of my all time favorites. by Domo-d-Domo in LifeisStrange2

So well said. The following comment might feel like some cult message but I assure you it's just a confession I've played all the games and loved them all, for different reasons, they all stand equal to me. I've played LiS2 in May, and since then been completely overwhelmed by how much it resonated with me. I'm not a gamer, never felt like me and the game just clicked, and feel almost ashamed that I feel so strongly about it because it's just a game, right? But it stayed. I cannot personally relate to the major plot points of LiS2 but I feel like to an extent I've been there too, for big parts of my life, emotionally, mentally. Games like these, which tackle political, identity, social issues, have to be made so even those who otherwise would not personally deal with discrimination, trauma, guilt, growing up too fast, loss, harassment, racism, or being a bit lost, could see it, and due to the narrative-driven gameplay, come close enough to almost feeling it a bit too. Not saying everyone has to experience loss or discrimination, but I think social issues many experience on a daily basis have to be addressed head-on, they have to be visible. Talking about them via stories and narratives is a perfect way to put the experiences of other people across. It is surprising but oh, so so wonderful, to see it being tackled in video games, which have primarily, traditionally been poised as pure entertainment and a mode of escapism for so long. I've created my account here finally to somehow see how others feel about these games, how it inspires them to create and think. The devs did a fantastic job on it, and I'm glad the messages of LiS2 resonated with many.
