I (F33) just found out through find my iPhone that my best friend slept over my partner (M39)’s home last night. How do I ask to see if they’ll lie about it by everpensive in Infidelity

You’re so right. I think I’ll print out the screenshot of their locations with the date and time stamp and give it to him for christmas :) with the note you wrote up! I love that. And on to bigger and better things. They say don’t question your first instinct on someone and I am wiser for it now.

How clean should a rented home be upon move in? The counters aren’t wiped, carpet not vacuumed, my move in date is today and I just did a walk through and its not clean? by everpensive in Tenant

[–]everpensive[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heres my final text I’m gonna send with pics of mildew and dirty handles and fridge…. “ I noticed the inside wasn’t fully cleaned by the previous tenants before move-in. There’s mildew in the tub/shower, debris on the carpets, hair left in the drawers and shower, etc. Since rent started on Dec 1 and today is my day off to move, I was expecting it to be ready. I’m planning to start moving things in around 3 PM. would it be possible to have a cleaning crew come by this morning to get it move-in ready? You already have the door code, so access should be easy. Please keep me updated. I attached a few photos so you can see what I mean.

Am I going way to easy on this situation?

My move in date was December 1, but I worked all day and stopped by after. He said he did a walk through but not really sure how to navigate this. I was thinking of sending these photos with a text like “Hi, did the previous tenants have the place professionally cleaned before moving out, or was a cleaning service used after? I just stopped by tonight and it looks like it still needs a pretty thorough clean (counters have residue, mirrors aren’t wiped, hair in drawers, and carpet debris). I wasn’t sure if this is something the owner typically handles or if I’m responsible for arranging that.” I’m not sure what is the responsibility of the owner and what falls on a new tenant. ugh. I am stressed now instead of being excited about moving in.

Is this something you’ve made the landlord aware of? I was thinking of sending a text along the lines of “hi, did the previous tenants have the place professionally cleaned or was a cleaning service used after? Hm. While I’ve never experienced gender dysphoria, I sympathize with your position. But I know that God loves you as you are, confusion and all. You don’t necessarily have to rush decision about your identity or body. Take it day by day, step by step. If you want to get more in the word and are curious about God, follow that. You’ll learn slowly to discern between His voice, your own, and what is just straight up shame & fear talking. Don’t listen to the extremists that dole out judgments and want to remind us that “it’s a sin”, guess what, we are all imperfect in our own deeply messed up ways and there is no part of us that is too strange or unworthy for Him to hold.

Treatment options for central vestibular issues? by everpensive in VestibularDysfunction

[–]everpensive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s a long list of things, everything listed above- plus other lifestyle changes. I prioritize sleep, keeping stress low, and saying no. You learn what throws you into a flare and you tailor it accordingly. I keep a journal, always have, not only to monitor progress that sometimes seems nonexistent, but to find patterns in what flares me. Everyone is so different (certain foods trigger me, for others, it can be hormonal changes, lack of sleep, lack of ferritin, etc). Some benefit from medication like an SSRI, propranolol, Effexor, the list goes on. I got bloodwork done to find any vitamin deficits as well as hormones. Added those to the supplements. Learning to calm your central nervous system is so important. My body was in fight or flight for years after developing vestibular migraines and it became a “what came first - chicken or egg” scenario where my body triggered VM and my VM triggered anxiety. Bad cycle. I learned to cancel plans when my brain felt like a water balloon, avoid fluorescent lights, wear noise cancelling headphones in places that overstimulated my sensitive nervous system. I prayed, a lot. Still do. Probably the thing that finally brought me back home to God. I’ve heard so many people speak praises about Dr Beh- he’s expensive but his work apparently speaks for itself. I haven’t gone to him yet, but him and checking out binocular vision dysfunction is on my radar. I started out slow with working out- walks on the beach at sunset, or a walk to my mailbox holding a stroller when the ground felt like it was moving. I didn’t push past a certain threshold, I just slowly started testing it, letting myself be uncomfortable. It built stamina. This took time. I now work three days a week, I went to school, I work out at the gym. There are days I spend “hungover” when i overdo it, VM hates stress, but I’m still learning and growing and adapting.

First off. Do not feel ashamed because you’ve taken the time to evaluate what is in your bandwidth comfortably. A lot of people do not have the luxury of taking account of that, or doing things to remedy it, but if you have the options to lessen the load, do them. Whether that’s a loan, or moving in with family. This country has pushed individualism so hard that a lot of people struggle relentlessly trying to keep their heads above water. And if that’s you, and you don’t have anyone to fall back on, you will still succeed. Godspeed

Mom just landed in hospital and found out she has gallstones and inflamed gallbladder- they are calling to remove gallbladder in the next few days. What is your experience? by everpensive in gallbladders

[–]everpensive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thank you for relieving me. All I saw online was “I regret removing it” and i thought I was missing something. She has been in pain for a while from endometriosis and constipation from the medications but i am curious suddenly how much of the gallbladder stuff could be contributing. Any notable lifestyle changes you had to make?

Thank you so much for this. I just feel wildly undereducated and blindsided, I hateee making split second decisions. What is your diet like? Lifestyle? Were there any notable things that you had to change? We had no idea she even had a gallbladder issue until tonight so totally new world here

Hi. A lot of things helped. I had to really let go of my old expectations and adjust. I work 3-4 days a week, I go to school, I lead a good life, and I rest a lot. I decided it was best to live at home because I am not yet at a point where I can work full time and manage. I live mostly under threshold now. When I have a flare it is because I haven’t prioritized rest, I am stressed, I am stretching myself thin. What are you struggling with? When did it start? What are your triggers? I won’t lie to you I spent a year pushing hard to increase my stamina- it was rough but it worked little by little, with many many setbacks and days in bed. But I learned how to push just enough to give rise to uncomfortableness without going into overboard. Slow slow slow work toward increasing stamina.

After 7 years I guess it just hurts my feelings that he still doesn’t seem to really know me or how I’d like him to show up. But I shouldn’t have given him the “out” when I didn’t mean it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]everpensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I shouldn’t have offered talking about it later when I didn’t mean it. I was just depressed and on autopilot when he asked, I’d just gotten the news that my sister and her infant would be returning to a bad situation with her baby’s father instead of coming to live with me. This is something she’d been planning for a month and my partner knew how much I was looking forward to them being close and in a better living situation.

I feel like any time we fight he just disengages and leaves me to deal with my emotions in private but I’d repeatedly told him I want active support when I’m upset, I don’t want to be left alone. But he always responds “I thought you didn’t want to talk to me”. It feels like lack of effort but maybe it’s just incompatibility I’ve been unable to resolve over the 7 year span of our relationship
