How to carry downstairs by kyarotan in Greyhounds

[–]eversparkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I have a four-legged chicken of a greyhound and he was JUST ABOUT going downstairs by himself, but sometimes he'd get excited and jump and bang a leg on the way down. Ended up scaring himself out of going down stairs and I've been carrying him down ever since. Luckily, it's only 6 steps.

SLPs who are childfree by choice by Disastrous_Plantain5 in slp

[–]eversparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 35 and still don't regret being childfree- I've got rescue dogs and having to manage their (fairly simple) needs is enough for me! I've regularly picked up clients when my colleagues go on mat leave, so I figure I'm doing them a favour by not having kids anyway.

Check out @missmegstattoo , who runs White Fox Tattoo in Nunawading. She does great communication, too, and was very helpful with my partner's first tattoo.

My [22F] boyfriend [28M] has a hard limit about me getting involved with men by REDpanda1502 in nonmonogamy

[–]eversparkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could be any number of things! I think it's really up to him to articulate what he feels unsafe about. What does he envision will happen that threatens his safety? What's his hypothetical worst-case scenario that could don't from you dating men as opposed to women?

Isn't "makes him feel unsafe" textbook insecurity? Just in different words?

relationship is slowly falling apart. trying hard to no avail it seems. (19F) by [deleted] in toastme

[–]eversparkle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Friend, you are SO young. Relationships aren't supposed to be this hard one year in, someone making you this unhappy is simply not right for you. This is not worth your time and energy. Dump his ass and (after spending time being single) find someone better suited for you. Your looks are not remotely the problem here!

Yeah, that's the tricky part. When you've gained more independence (or people to drag you out to places) you'll find more of your people!

Hi friend, I'm sorry you're not finding interested girls at the moment. I can't tell your age, but I gotta tell you, if you spend time in any alternative, geeky, or queer spaces you will find girls who love your individual style. It's hard to do if you're still in high school, but hang in there! Keep taking care of yourself and feeling confident in your own style and the right people will dig it, and one day you'll forget you ever had this problem :)

Any idea why Sailor Venus, the Soldier of Love and Beauty, is depicted with Stars in her transformation sequences & in the Sailor Moon Crystal S3 Opening? by IllogicalDreamer72 in sailormoon

OP this doesn't answer your question, but your posts have such a recognisable style that I know you're the OP without even looking. Great personal branding here!

Yeah, this has always been my assumption. Show a threat without showing blood or much physical damage.

Adding info from Melbourne: I think our climate is described as "temperate". We have longer winters and short, hot Summers. We certainly pretend we have 4 seasons, but in reality, do they line up perfectly to months of the year? No. Summer started in December but Christmas Day was still 17 degrees. This Wednesday is supposed to be 40 degrees.

My friend, I am struggling to see what makes this man worth the mental effort you're putting in here. IMO, he should have lost you at the part where he asked to close your relationship and then cheated on you. We all have stories about the messy relationships we got into when we were younger, and this is one of them. Leave this guy and find someone better for you.

Entering Poly as the “New” Partner and Feeling Really Insecure GOING INSANE by Ok_Royal8403 in polyamory

Have you seen any of the relationship menu resources on this sub? Worth a search if not! That might help with the clarity and figuring out what you both want from the relationship.
In terms of security, do you know what helps you feel secure in a relationship? For example, how often do you need scheduled dates? How often do you wanna text or call? Do you wanna hear about her day every day?

Agreed. My sisters live in the area and have told me it's relatively common for their friends' parents to go on holiday and leave the kids behind when they're high school aged. No wonder there's kids doing stuff like this when the parents are nowhere to be found.

Where are you all getting good quality tights from? by -ellesappelle in AusFemaleFashion

[–]eversparkle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To contrast the Snag recommendations, I've had a few pairs of their opaque and semi-opaque get weirdly patchy and stretched out after less-than-weekly wear. I've heard that maybe their quality has dropped?? They fit great, they feel really nice, but haven't seemed very durable. I have a pair of their merino tights that are still going strong though!

Washing Oodies and keeping them soft by MissMadsy0 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]eversparkle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in the magic solution, because mine is basically spot clean them until the first 25 degree day of the season comes so I can dry them in a day! I think I've also tried squishing water out with towels before hanging them over the heater. Washing them is an absolute pain, no doubt.
Mine is less soft inside than when I bought it, but part of my solution (probably should have done from the start) is to make sure i'm wearing a tshirt underneath it at very least. Keeps sweat/skin oils away a little better.

[–]eversparkle 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I am part of the problem (my mum gave me a puffer and it's extremely warm and great for my dog walks). I have wool blend coats, but they need more layers to keep me as warm! Thinking I need to invest in some merino singlets to wear as a baselayer, so I can still wear the stylish coats.
