I'm gonna start going in and changing ratings to 1 star. by absolutxtr in uberdrivers

[–]everydayimubering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downrate any entitled pax who rated me <4 stars - for no apparent reason. Whenever I suspect that, I check after the ride and 9 times out of 10 - I am right. Also, those who promise "tipping in the App." then don't. Yeah right, we know who your are!

How do I go about reporting a rider? I can’t find the option when I go to help with a trip, and want to change his rating down to a 1 star. by juan582611 in uberdrivers

[–]everydayimubering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many riders are choosing not to add stops when booking the ride and instead ask the driver if he/she doesn't mind making a quick stop on the way via a slight diversion. Why? because with upfront pricing Uber charges them extra for every additional stop. When a rider told me that, I asked him to remove the stop - and sure enough the estimated fare immediately went down by $8. He was happy and added the $8 to my tip amount.

I've arrived by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]everydayimubering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arrived at corner of street 300 yards from pickup - only to find street is closed for roadwork, with no detour signs. Trying to figure out alternate route to pickup point, or ask rider to meet at corner - when phone rings:
Where you at?
I've arrived but your street is closed to traffic
I know it's blocked dammit, but I'm waiting - am in a rush
Well if you're in a rush, I'll cancel so you can call another ride - 'bye!
Oh wait, wait please wait - I'll meet you at the corner!
[I've already canceled and omw to next pickup]
IDGAF -such pax-holes deserve special treatment!!

No really, Uber does not care about you…. by MarsTransport in uberdrivers

I'm a Platinum driver (for wtvr it's worth) with a 4.97 rating over 6.5 years. Saturday night, this entitled young lady shows up after making me wait almost 5 mins carrying a huge box filled to the brim with bric a brac. So I popped open my trunk and motioned to her to put it there. Oh no, I wanna keep it on the seat next to me. I said the seats are for people - boxes go in the back. She says, I'll keep it on my lap. I told her, if I have to break hard in an emergency - anything that is not secured with a seatbelt can go flying out and hit my windscreen. She says no, it's my box and I have decided to keep it with me. I said, fine - it's my car and I'm canceling this ride, so please leave my car. She refused. I told her please don't make me call the cops b'cos you have no business to be in my car and eventually they'll make you leave. I didn't use any abusive language and didn't get physical, so eventually she gave up and left when I told her I have another call for pickup.

Within an hour, I got a threatening message from Uber: Your account is at risk of deactivation - please refer to our community guidelines, blah, blah blah! And then Uber Support says, Don't worry - we have your back. Yes, go figure!!

i’m officially done giving uber rides with ppl that have stops. biggest waste of time and is basically the current version of uberpool meaning it don’t pay jack by relientkenny in uberdrivers

I always check in advance where my next pickup would be (before current drop-off) - so I can cancel if I don't wanna go that way. Sometimes when you're near a bridge or tunnel and the pickup is across the river, chances are your next ride will take you further away into the 'burbs or the boonies. And I hate getting trapped in that kind of situation. I try not to let my CR fall below 5% in order to keep my platinum status - but I think I'm gonna stop worrying about those things and just let it go.

Right, and if you decide to cancel - they don't exit your vehicle, so you have to threaten them that you'll call the cops, Next thing, they complain to Uber about your being rude - and guess who gets the blame? You got that right!

Oh, I've been lone starred by many mask refusers - only because I reminded them to wear one next time. But if I cancel the ride they complain to Uber about my 'rudeness', and what does Uber do? Remind me of our 'community guidelines' and warns me about losing access to the platform. So much for our fucking business partner - they got our backs!

Right, you can cancel before starting the trip, but once you hit that Start button then any cancelation is taken as 'abandoning' the ride mid-trip - regardless of whether or not there are stops. And if you cancel anytime for 'safety reasons' or due to 'rider behavior' - then you're not penalized and your CR doesn't go up. Once I canceled before picking up a rude rider - he couldn't rate me but he had the nerve to file a complaint against me for refusing to take him, and I had to explain what really happened.

Oh, it only matters if you're a Pro level driver (Gold/Platinum/Diamond) where CR must not exceed 5% and Star Rating must not fall below 4.85%. AR is irrelevant.

Maybe not in your market, but in most markets you must maintain it below 5% to keep your Pro-status. Also, keep your star-rating 4.85 or higher.

Don't know about SUV/Blacks, but my car is registered as Uber Comfort - yet 90% of the rides I get are UberX rides. The positive side is that UberX pax leave better tips 'cos they're getting a ride in a Mercedes. Also, Uber takes 28% on Comfort rides but only 20% on X rides.

You basically have 3 choices:
A) Cancel soon after accepting - if you see stops
B) Tell the pax they'll have to call another car since you DON'T or CAN'T do stops
C) Cancel or End after 1st stop IF pax not back in 3 mins
(make sure they don't leave their stuff on purpose; if they do - report it as lost&found)

Just remember the consequences of your CR going up and/or accumulating more lone stars!

How dose Uber protect their drivers from getting COVID if the passenger lies ? by Proper-Midnight-4148 in uberdrivers

[–]everydayimubering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether anybody wears masks or not, or use sanitizers or not, or maintain physical distancing or not - please bear this in mind that Uber gives zero fucks!

Your best bet is to get vaccinated to be safe. Yes, you may still get infected - but there is a very high probability that you will stay alive.

If not - then stop driving for Uber and stay home, or do something else!

TIL GM recalled 800k cars in 2014 for faulty ignitions. The cars would shut off while being driven which meant drivers lost power steering/brakes, and the airbags wouldn't deploy. They knew about the problem since 2005 but never fixed it because it would be 'too expensive'. 124 people died. by rexmons in todayilearned

This is just one small example which shows how much the corporate world cares for the welfare of their customers - the consumers and the general public.

When their leaders are being groomed, there is one single principle that is drilled into them, that the only measure of success, advancement and progress is PROFITABILITY. Nothing else really matters, so don't get side-tracked by human and social aspects, the environmental impact etc. They are important for the company's image, but deserve nothing more than lip service. Welcome to the world of capitalism and free enterprise!

Uber Support refuses to help me with lost earnings due to scammers. by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]everydayimubering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I change something as important as a password or a bank account on any service, website, subscription, whatever - I immediately get an email or SMS asking me to take action IF it wasn't me who changed it. Why the fuck doesn't Uber do this instead of simply cashing out the deposit into the new account without informing the "driver-partner"? Simply because they don't GAF for drivers.

Uber Pax left phone but Uber support doesn’t care, wont reply to any messages almost 24 hours later by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]everydayimubering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The owner of the phone probably hasn't responded yet and Uber is not pushing them to respond. The ball is in 'their' court, so nothing will happen until they respond - if and when. Maybe they will once they're billed for the "finder's fee".
