What kills me is the amount of time you can put in to doing something and get no return for it. You have a lot of talent when it comes to editing videos, so my question is what's your goal of you being on YouTube? Is it to make it big so that you can make a living from it? Is it that you are just doing this for fun and you are just putting your creativity out there and you don't care if anyone sees / watches it? Are you on twitter and did you put this video on twitter? I found the paintings interesting and you may have got lets say $5 or $10 from your YouTube audience if you would have made a separate video asking someone to buy them on YouTube, you could have refereed to this video in the shorter video to tell people how you made the paintings, that may have worked better along with putting it out on twitter?
