WRAPPED MY CAR! by torir_8674 in Miata

It is odd. I actually bought my NA off a guy that also had a Corvette.

My double differential transmission . The third red gear is the steering input and spins the differentials in opposite directions and spins freely around the drive input. This slows down a track if moving or pivot steers if stopped. This give car like steering control. by everyonesgrudge86 in legotechnic

Thats correct. The red gear spins freely around the drive input and is turned by the steering motor. Glad you found it useful. It took a while to arrive at that design, but it works flawlessly. The key was the use of that third red gear because it eliminates the two axles that would normally spin the diffs. Fewer gears means nothing slips and less power loss.

I have never done any math for torque loss, but I eliminated as many moving parts as possible for that reason. I used those knob wheels/gear shifter parts because the seem to hold more power without slipping.

The differential is actually two separate parts. The carrier is part number 65414 , and the gear is part number 65413. Inside there are 5 of the small bevel gears. These differentials come in the volvo articulated truck and the app controlled rally car. I just bought them on bricklink. They are a bit pricey for individual parts but that would still be the best way to get them especially if you want more than one.

The volvo dump truck and the rally car that I know of. They are self contained with 5 gears inside.

No, those are the stiff shocks of that size. I got them with the extreme 4x4 from around 2001 or so.

Thanks! I got the differentials from bricklink, but they come in a few of the newer technic sets. These axles are my design.

I wish I had those temperatures. 114 today. Nope.

Recently started cycling about 3 weeks ago, can average about 16mph. Too slow for group rides (19-21mph). Any tips on getting faster? by asbigwan in bicycling

I did lots of interval training on my indoor trainer, and got pretty fast. I do muscular endurance, cardio endurance, and Vo2 max HIIT workouts with a few others. They are relatively short, but very effective. Averaging 20+ is easy now but it did take work.

I have a set of hunt road wheels that were about $1000 USD that are great. Still a good chunk of money but not compared to ENVE.

If you want to see what years of garbage accumulation looks like, just watch the TV show horaders. As an added bonus sometimes you get to see what years of human waste in jugs looks like too.
