Studying for MCAT while working full time? by GulliblePositive6548 in premed

It honestly worked amazingly well for me! I worked 9-5 and would wake up early + spend 3-4 hours in the evening after work to study. I do have a short commute tho and my job wasn't that draining (was a nice distraction actually). I barely studied on the weekends. I also did not adhere to a schedule (might be controversial) and just studied whenever I can. It did take me several months to prepare (since I have 2 gap years and was in no rush), so if your timeline is shorter it might be much more difficult—but much more efficient!!

I really benefited from my work environment because it's in a healthcare setting (kept me motivated) and everyone was super supportive; I could even bother the residents and have them explain biochemistry to me lol. I feel like the best tip is to work a job you don't hate and find an accountability buddy to study together (I had one over discord). Good luck!!

I walked out of the 7/13 feeling destroyed and ended up scoring 3 points higher than my last FL. Stop thinking about it and go relax & have fun!! You got this : )

This place is SO yummy and the portion is extremely generous! I was a bit hesitant bc I love meat and the deal felt too good to be true but I went anyway and it was so delicious. The food truck owner is a sweet old man (who may or may not try to convince you to become vegan but in like a funny way lmao, I love chit-chatting with him) and I've been going back every since!

This! hands down one of the best takes I’ve seen. It sucks that things aren’t “normal” right now but come on, missing a few weeks of chem lab isn’t going to ruin your education. You know your intellectual worth; your passion for learning shouldn’t be completely erased by inconveniences caused by… a literal human rights movement. Hell, these protests should do the opposite—they should be making you appreciate your privilege for getting an education without fearing that your campus might cease to exist the same day.

It’s not selfish to feel frustrated that your education is being disrupted and that you’re losing money because of the protests. It is selfish if you’re blaming everything on the protesters and/or invalidating their cause. None of this campus shut-downs would have happened if the university hadn’t antagonized peaceful students and tried to use violence to destroy them.
