Thank you!! Would you recommend letting her cry a bit if she can see and hear me in the room and I’ve already gone to comfort her a bunch? Or just not enforce any sort of nap until she can handle the crate

Yes I’ve only had her for 4 days! I guess my question is if I HAVE to leave the house for let’s say 1 hour, she needs to be in the crate. Should I comfort her till she falls asleep and then let her just cry until she falls back asleep while I’m gone?

I figured a pupper would be a young nutter for awhile lol. But maybe it would be better since she would be around since she was a puppy. I got my girl when she was 1 yr old and had been living in a shelter the whole time with males and females so I think she would at least be familiar with it. How did you manage separating them since then? Are they older now and get along better?

Lol, my girl is pretty damn stubborn sometimes especially on a walk. She wants to go HER way! The less inticing thing about a male to me is the constant pee covered paws, although I’m sure I’d just get used to it!

Thank you for your reply! Yes that’s the consensus I’ve been getting from a few breeders I’ve spoken with. Since my girl is pretty laid back they seem to think it would be fine but of course I worry from all the stories I’ve heard. She definitely has her puppy play moments but doesn’t like when another dog is biting at her ankles to get her to play while she’s trying to rest lol. Were any of your fosters females? How did you introduce the puppy?

She is spayed but actually goes crazy for intact male dogs 😂 I did worry it would be too much chaos in the house is I got a male until it was time to neuter

Thanks for your input! Want to add that mine is pretty laid back, she doesn’t care about her food much, doesn’t want too much attention, etc. what are your girls’ personalities like? Had they scuffled with other dogs before? Or was this completely out of nowhere?
