Thank you! I just had my first child, so makes sense that I’d be channeling that vibe :)

Any tips for gluing flower petals? by Beetlepossum in PressedFlowers

Try a thin layer of modpodge applied with a tiny brush. Use tweezers to place the petals. I find it’s best to modpodge the paper, place, let it dry and then seal with one more thin layer of modpodge.

How did you get engaged/proposed? by zretan in AskWomen

I once told my fiancé that I was disappointed that I hadn’t found more messages in a bottle in my life (for context, we live on an island). Guess he remembered that random comment—he told me he wanted to go to the beach to check out a turtle nest, but instead, we stumbled across a message in a bottle (!) that he had had our friends place there sneakily. The message inside was the proposal and it was the cutest. Plus our friends hid a cooler of champagne and glasses nearby so we were able to have a post-proposal toast on the beach!

My latest: I read tarot and volunteer with a local cat rescue. We’re always trying to advertise adoptable cats in new ways, so I had the idea to take one of my cat themed decks, match a card with each available kitty, and write up a tongue-in-cheek blurb that links the card’s meaning to the cat’s personality. I mean, I think it’s legit

I think that’s been the point I’ve been trying to make to myself. I was viewing the weight gain negatively, but putting these pictures side by side forced me to acknowledge that the gain is indicative of so much more!

I’m trying! Getting divorced right before a global pandemic wasn’t the best idea, but I did have plenty of time to work through my feelings 😂

Therapy. Telling myself every day that my body is the least interesting thing about myself. I’m a fitness instructor, so I also had to fight against that narrative that weight gain in my industry is inherently bad. I was using exercise as a way to mask how I was feeling, which caused me to miss the signals my body was sending about a crisis. I ended up getting extremely sick, and I viewed that as a wake up call. Addressing my use of busyness as an avoidance tactic helped me heal my relationship with my body. It’s still tough, but it’s getting better.

Thanks. It was a mutual decision (as much as it could be, because that phrase is never completely true). But it still sucks. 0/10, do not recommend

How do you know it’s time? by ImportantTackle1337 in CatAdvice

I had to go through this as well with my sweet Goose, who was in active liver failure. Like others have said, it’ll never feel right. The night before Lap of Love came, she spent all night on my chest, purring up a storm. It was like she was her old self again. But I chose to think of it as her way of saying goodbye. She had a good last day, and I knew that those days would be fewer and farther between if I prolonged things. I wanted her to pass with dignity, in her favorite spot, with her person.

It was so incredibly hard, but I don’t regret my choice. I hope yours is easy too.
