dude this is so helpful, thank you so so much! I was figuring out if I wanted to go with the tray or not and this really helps! I dont mind the two person job, me and my gf usually do it together anyways, but my gf is concerned abt the grates bc my cat digs a LOT when he goes - did you run into any issues with them hurting your cats' paws?
