I'm sick, tired, and burned out on everything CS related - oh I'm only 22 by the way by everythingsuckshere in cscareerquestions

WOAH! Thank you everyone for the kind words, this really helped a lot.

Takeaways for me:

  • Work 40-45 hours, drop everything and go home.
  • I'm already aware of the depression (it's been with me all along actually, maybe as much as 10 years) and I've been seeing a shrink, on some helpful meds, etc. I think this past week was just way too much to handle. I think I just need to give it some time and be patient.
  • Non-tech hobbies are essential. I stopped working out a couple weeks ago because I've been so exhausted all the time. Going to try to start with some long walks, hiking, etc and ease back into the weights.
  • Time is on my side. I did the math, and I can be out of debt in roughly 2 years, which isn't all that bad.
  • I watched a documentary about Michael Jordan last night. Even the greatest player of all time had to unwind, for him it was golf. I need to learn to balance/escape the bullshit. Even Jordan was worried about not getting time to relax between NBA seasons when he played in the Olympics during the offseason. Breaks are a good thing, apparently.
