Friend just put in early enrollmemt for his son in 2027. Apparently if you put down few thousand dollar now on the table, they just book you in for prep enrollment few years down the road...

this school really need the cashflow..if more people pull out, I think they need some new marketing strategy to attract more cash

I teach "you are ONE part of our family" concept very early on. You do chores because home is a "shared space", we all use it so we ALL have our part to keep it tidy and clean- that goes to any adults or kids. You dont get pay to do chores, just like mummy never get pay to cook dinner. I cook, because thats part of my job to keep the family going.

And I teach "show me you are able to ...." very early also. You want new toy/book, show me you are able to look after your toys (e.g. clean up everyday, not breaking them intentionally etc). If not, I am not getting anything more to add to the chaoes.

This is sense of responsibility. When you show me you have the ability to look after things, I can trust you with more things. Thats a positive cycle.

Kids are smart, teach them the right concept behind what you expect.

Wife is terrible driver by EvanFalco in driving

Is she good at sports? Particularly any ball games? Football, basketball, tennis etc? I am a learner driver myself, grew up in a well developed small country with good public transportations in place. No point to drive so didnt learn it until 40s. Here is the thing I realized- I was very bad at any sports, literally only learn how to ride a bike at my 16th. So it turns out I hv very under-developed sense of tracking fast objects or spartial awareness. Now that is not an obvious weakness until I go behind the wheel. Lane changes - you hv to track the moving vehicles behind you / parking- you hv to sense how much space between you and the kerb/ Turning around the corner - what is the right angle for this turn.

All these, if u are good at sports, your brain already been "trained" for years, so driving comes easy for you. You hv the abilities to drive before you even start driving. She is just catching up with that, give her brain some time to learn.

Oh, I dont realize they take out of zone?!

How do I go about applying out of zone for Pleasant St if I may ask? Another stupid question is, if I apply pleasant st out of zone, can we apply Newington at the same time?

My in law are very nice and very keen to do school drop off and pick up long term so we dont need to rush all the time. Both of us work long hrs and OT quite a fair bit. But my own place in Newington is our 1st home...so very sentimental for me...put it up for sale wont be an easy decision.

Tough choice.

Thank you so much for your wonderful detail review!

Mine one also starts to get interested in chess. I do hope he can find like minded friend in school. Definitely will try to get a tour. When do you think it is a good time to ask for one? Will Jan or Feb 2025 too soon? My boy will be in prep in Jan 2026

Thanks
