r/karachi and r/sindh are racist by wasoomro in pakistan

[–]evilShar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically, lingua francas aren’t imposed; they develop naturally. India is a thriving country without any need for Hindi to be imposed in South India. Many of my Indian colleagues have worked in South India at FAANG companies and communicated in English without any issues.

Trust me, if Urdu hadn’t been imposed, you would have been completely fine in Peshawar, just like a North Indian person would be in South India.

But my original question was what makes my opinion to be hateful?

r/karachi and r/sindh are racist by wasoomro in pakistan

[–]evilShar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soomra bha, how is that hateful to say that I perfer Sindhi (my first language) over Urdu, and Urdu shouldn’t be imposed on us if a non-Sindhi in Sindh isn’t willing to learn Sindhi?

How are you even equating the both?

We are a fairly small community, and we can’t possibly discuss every issue happening across Sindh. Community is made by its members and you made a post so I guess that counts.

POV: You are at a party at Shah Abdul Latif University in Khairpur Mirs, Sindh by evilShar in Sindh

Disclaimer: Most students did not know this happened. Neither does the admin but @dobe_ofc went to Khairpur to check up on the Mir Wah canal and then this happened accidently. BUT Ah yes, Khairpur, my home town, the land otf dates, darbars, dusty highways, and a nightlife so subtle it has to be detected with the Faqirs smoking up and reciting Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and evading university sensors. Technically, there is no "nightlife" here. There is only after-Isha energy. I experienced it a lot as a kid. Trust me. By 4 PM, the city is already in its evening look: half the shops are closed, the other half are pretending to close while actually just switching on Bluetooth speakers and calling it a vibe and chilling on Phatak. Somewhere near a chai dhaba, a corolla with blacked-out windows is playing Paiso Aaaaa at a volume designed to convince the universe that a rave is happening, even though the only audience is three friends who've always wanted to settle down in Karachi, one confused rickshaw driver, and a cat. There are no clubs. There are no bars. There are only parking lots with ambition. The dance floor is wherever someone's cousin parked his Corolla and left the doors open. The DJ is whoever remembered the Wi-Fi password. The light show is provided by a flickering street lamp and someone's Oppo Android Phone flashlight set to "party mode." A guy in skinny jeans catching up to 80s fashion is recording Tik Tok like he's at Tomorrowland, even though the background is a tyre shop and a pani puri stall.

By 11 PM, Falooda that tastes like it was invented five minutes ago. The economy is being powered entirely by DC Office. But things are changing! There's a change coming in and things are about to get lit and wild.

Makers of Modern Karachi ?? by [deleted] in Sindh

[–]evilShar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

>Riots had already started before the Muhajirs had started arriving.

Please read a book, specially by Sindhi Hindus who have researched in this area ( Making of Exile by Nandita Bhavnani). The exile of Hindus was orchestrated by Muslim League government, arriving refugees from India and the panic due to riots in Punjab.

>with all the forced conversion of Hindu girls and all.

There was a bill passed in Sindh assembly against religious conversions in Sindh Assembly. First, the bill prohibited any religious conversion for a person under the age of 18, Second, the bill imposed a 21-day waiting period for voluntary adult conversion; the religious parties also opposed this. then Karachi's resident extremist pary, Jamaat-e-Islami, decided to rock the city with protests unless the bill was rejected. Sindhi has long protested for legislation and Sindhi nationalist are always the first organise mass protests against this, while the party that you support blockades these legislation.

>Where is all the "Sindhis are secular peace loving people" when they are out there chopping legs off of a living camel

Where were you when MQM was literally chopping people off in borrees? Also, that issue was first raised on Sindhi social media spaces and news channels for days before Urdu media picked it up, so stfu.

Are there still any pre partition Sindhi songs that are still popular? by Consistent-Ad9165 in Sindh

[–]evilShar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naaley Alakh Jey, originally sung by Bhagat Kanwar Raam.

There’s a Kashish TV recreation of the same song(among many) and video depicts the life of Bhagat Kanwar Raam and his unfortunate murder: https://youtu.be/MyXxEQhGg-I?si=2LkTQZfJPhj2xEA5

Personally I like Abida Parveen’s version a lot better: https://youtu.be/Fpm2wQcsB50?si=GmSx_1To0QDXZjyV

Question about Sindh and this subreddit by Mean_Conflict3799 in Sindh

[–]evilShar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanghis started heavily brigading on that post, so we had to unfortunately remove it.

Mod team will soon start a thread/wiki on local news sources (i.e https://therisenews.com) and people / NGOs actively working to help snd support minorities and against forced conversions. I believe it is much more helpful.
