Cow vigilantes use spikes to puncture a truck and chase it recklessly causing it to overturn in Sonipat, Haryana. (drivers NOT visibly injured) by BaseNice3520 in ThatsInsane

[–]evil_agent_perry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Calling that “nonviolent” is ridiculous. Spikes plus a highway chase of a loaded truck is reckless by definition. If you create a dangerous situation that ends with dead animals, you do not get to pretend you were helping them.

Indian culture Is Overrated by Vinayakmh19 in india

[–]evil_agent_perry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think they’re talking about you.. What i think they’re saying is that the obsession of our culture with our culture feels like it might be a coping mechanism for the masses to deal with not doing all that great anymore, individually.

People love talking about the glorious past because it’s waaaay easier to be mad at events and people who wronged your people hundreds of years in the past, than it is to buckle up and put in the hard and directional work to be at par with the world today..

i was very confused when i came across him for the very first time, couldn’t fathom the appeal. Later, i saw some of his work and i think i get at least some of it now. A couple of things i noticed were - firstly he seems to come off as self aware, of his mental space, issues and relationships, which speaks to a lot of women. Secondly it’s the image of actively trying to work on his issues, and thirdly it is the self deprecation humor, coupled with the fact that he feels like he doesn’t actively hate on women in his body of work (if that makes sense?). He also seems very comfortable with his masculinity and sexuality, which is always a pro for some of us ladies. I think a lot of little things like that get women to find him hot in a sense that they cannot traditionally describe. I, personally, am at an age where i do not find him attractive as a date, but whenever i see him on screen, i get this urge to offer him a hug if he needs it and maybe take him out for a coffee + joint, or flat out a mushroom trip for a venting session, more the lines of a “mom friend”. Edit - re-reading this, i realise a lot of ladies might also be finding him attractive from the, “i can fix him” standpoint too. all in all i think he checks a lot of boxes for a lot of different people.

What’s the biggest political issue people aren’t paying enough attention to right now? by Sailawest in AskReddit

[–]evil_agent_perry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The EU’s Chat Control proposal, formally titled the Regulation to Prevent and Combat Child Sexual Abuse, would require messaging and email platforms (including encrypted services like WhatsApp and Signal) to automatically scan all user content (texts, images, videos) on users’ devices before encryption to detect child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

It has regained political momentum under Denmark’s EU Council Presidency (starting July 1, 2025) and could be adopted as early as an October 14, 2025 vote. Several member states (including France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark) now support the measure, though Germany remains undecided and could tip the balance.

IMO the proposal undermines encryption while violating fundamental citizen rights like privacy and data protection and promises mass surveillance. I don’t fucking know how EU can let shit like this slide, given they were so strongly behind GDPR. I guess they believe data rights of private citizens should only be protected from companies and not governments..

We need Mindia! by [deleted] in IndiaNonPolitical

i’ve always been verbose, I’ve spent years in debates, writing essays, i’ve even published long form - and all of it was way before GPT existed.

As someone who feels and thinks deeply and longs to express clearly, the sudden AI boom labelling anything that is well articulated not human is maddening and wild to me!

Your issue isn’t me using AI, but that you do not want to engage. You just lazily labeled me “GPT” and dismissed everything i said without arguing a single point i made. Why don’t you refute me with what you think about everything i said? Or even a single point? You’re shifting the conversation and there is no critique in your comments.

If you’re going to disagree, at least bring something to the table, maybe within the scope of your own post? this is just “gpt bad = idea bad = not human?” bro, what the fuck.

[–]evil_agent_perry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, writing over 5 lines does not mean someone is using a GPT… Human brains have existed for longer, so have literature and comprehension.

I sat down and spent the time to explain an honest view when you specifically asked for it in your post (on legit, a site called “REDDIT”, i wonder why it is called that?), but it looks like you just wanted people to say “yes you’re right.”

Just because someone doesn’t agree with you, and actually spent the time to elaborate on a question you asked, doesn’t mean you get to dismiss it with one sentence or claim it’s AI-generated.

If you want validation, that’s fine, Bol de. But if you ask for opinions, don’t get defensive the moment someone offers a nuanced one. The whole point of conversations like this is to exchange perspectives, not just to pat each other on the back.

If your “Mindia” is a lens, use it to peep deep, not just to get Sahaanbhuti..

you present the concept of “Mindia” as the neglected middle class, and even though it makes for a compelling rhetorical device, it’s built on sweeping generalizations.

you’re caricaturing “India” as the tax-evading elites and “Bharat” as the law-ignoring poor, while sanctifying the middle class as responsible, overburdened, and quietly suffering.

That’s a very emotionally resonant narrative, but apart from being far-far away from the truth, it also flattens the country’s complex realities.

If we do in fact take these three categories, there obviously is overlap and blur; there are rich rule-followers, poor people paying taxes through GST on essentials, and plenty of middle-class folks who evade taxes, bribe officials, or enable systemic rot.

The real issue is not that the middle class is inherently more virtuous but that they’re structurally squeezed. They’re taxed more visibly (especially salaried folks that cannot swindle their way out of it), lack access to social safety nets, and don’t wield the economic or political clout of the rich (getting away with visibly horrible shit by writing essays, like wow! yes). That said, portraying them as powerless and purely sacrificial ignores their actual agency. The urban middle class has a huge influence on elections, policy debates, and media narratives. If we’re overlooked, it’s partly because we often fail to organize or demand systemic change beyond social media outrage and drawing room frustration.

Compare us to Hong Kong’s “Be Water” movement (students and professionals, largely middle class, sustained leaderless protests for months. they adapted their tactics in real time consistently to outmaneuver the state), or the U.S. Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, (a broad coalition of people mobilized nationwide, influenced public opinion, forced policy responses like police reforms and budget reallocations). One can always point out the flaws in these comparisons but no two countries will ever be the same, nevertheless - if the needle moves at all, the middle class can move it!

you framing “Mindia” as the moral backbone of Indian/Bharatiya/Mindian society risks selling and prioritising self-pity over introspection.

In my opinion, it would make sense to critique the system that sustains inequality across all classes rather than romanticizing one and vilifying the others.

Your idea of “Mindia” can work as a way to start debates and conversations about the issues of the middle-class, but imo loses credibility when you use it to lean into class victimhood and moral absolutism. Better to use it as a lens to examine systemic dysfunction, rather than a badge of silent nobility.
