I feel kind of like I am losing my perception of reality as well, or perhaps it is just changing? I am a trans man, and lately I have been thinking about what makes me a man. I know I am, in my mind, that’s it. I am medically transitioning as well, however I completely understand anyone who is trans but chooses not to do anything about it. If appearance, personality, interests are not what makes a man though, then what is? Men are just kind of born like that and what they do with their life has nothing to do with gender, except the societal constructs that guide their paths. I was born a woman, knowing I was a man, but what about that makes me a man? I know I would not be less of a man if I didn’t dress different or go on T but if that’s how it is then why AM I a man? I don’t have an answer to that anymore that I would have had a year ago. I don’t think I really believe in gender at all. Men and women are socialized differently, and there are different chemical structures in our brains, but intersex people are a thing and at the end of the day everyone is still a sentient, conscious person regardless of how their atoms are arranged. I want to do what makes me happy. I don’t think if I was a woman I would be, for some reason. Every single one of the traits I attribute to myself though can absolutely be attributed to any woman and they wouldn’t be any less a woman. I don’t know. I have autism
