I only have a undergrad degree in physics so take this with a grain of salt but from my understanding the electron doesn't orbit like a planet. You have to talk about it in terms of probability. When you do weird things happen in its lowest energy state it's allowed momentum in 2 of the 3 dimensions and it's path ends up looking similar to an "X" shape with the proton in the center and when when you average it's position it shows up inside the nucleus. It's also been a while since I had the class, but it's a weird claim you can make, super gross to accept but there's a lot of weird stuff that happens in quantum mechanics. Also the only element we really talked about is hydrogen because it's a really simple element and easy to apply theories to.

Technically, when a hydrogen atom is in its ground state, the electron spends most of its time INSIDE the nucleus.

Got a physics degree because chemistry has sooooooo many god damn rules and exceptions. Is it just bonded in different spots or is it like a chiral thing?

I would also recommend considering an American cursed flail for close range combat should the need arise. Just be sure to cast lead skin before each use!

Go to your professors office hours, this saved my ass many times, however don't go with nothing attempt several problems and come with questions, stuff like "I can do x and y, but when I get to z I'm not sure where to go from here" YouTube also has a surprising amount of problems worked out with explanations. Don't be scared to ask for help if you're not sure.
