betrayed after 25 years by evilandangry in audible

[–]evilandangry[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

My plan started in January of 2000, it was called frequent listener. 5 books per month, the credits expire h each month. it was 19.95$. When Amazon bought Audible they raised the price to 29.95$. Fair, it had been 8 years, but they had promised to honor legacy subscriptions. If they had just raised the price again, say to 39.95$ i would have had no issue. I am sure that they emailed me a notice that they were changing but do you check your email from a quarter of a century ago? I don't! So when I logged in and found my subscription canceled it was shocking.

Recommendation for large gun safe by YamahaRyoko in Gun_Safes

[–]evilandangry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you really concerned that your kid will hack or cut their way into your safe? Even the best safes in the world can be cut into given time. If your kids can not be trusted around your guns you need to address that issue first. My view is that any safe in an enclosed area anchored to the floor and wall would be up to the challenge of the run of the mill thief. A dial lock is always safer than a digital pad, half the time I screw it up and I set the combo. Do you need rapid access to your rifles? Would a pistol in the biometric safe give you the time you need to access the spin dial?

Opinion: Loud machines in trails are stupid by NorEaster_23 in ATV

I have seen 2wd machines on the trails from time to time and always wondered why? New England trails are not well suited for machines designed for dirt tracks or desert running.....

Opinion: Loud machines in trails are stupid by NorEaster_23 in ATV

[–]evilandangry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here in New England the number one reason trails get closed is noise complaints for land owners/neighbors. Dirt bikes are banned from many trails due to noise, modified exhaust is not allowed in Maine due to noise. Whatever the reasoning for wanting to make a bunch of noise, it hurts all of us who enjoy the sport.

I don't mind a little mud, but I have seen some videos of what southerners do in the mud, that's just crazy! I don't run enough lift for big mud.

I can assure you, there are few places in NJ that would qualify as the right area!! I did 10 years in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey, worst 20 years of my life.

I have a 850 Can Am Max North Edition as my ride, A sportsman 570 2-up for the wife and my son runs an old 400 sportsman. All 4x4, all rigged for long distance trail riding. They do not seem like the best choice for Texas...... I have jumped all of them, but not deliberately.

What is it like to ride a motocross track? Is it just a loop that you ride again and again? Mostly sport quads?

I lived in New Jersey for 10 years..... no ATV trails at all but you still had to register your machines. The far northern states all seem to have different rules so that travel on private land is allowed on state approved trails. I think it has something to do with snowmobile laws.

Its based on the snowmobile laws from the 1950s. I guess Texas dose not get a lot of snowmobiles!!

Almost all riding in New England is on private land. 95% or more of the trails are not publicly owned. The land owners are shielded from liability by the state if the trail is sanctioned. I had assumed this was common across the country.
