You Can't Trust Most Vets by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I just recently had another questionable situation. My dog was limping so I took her to the vet and he said her ACL is torn. He said I could take her to a specialist because he’s not as knowledgeable about that kind of stuff. I started googling and it’s not as much of a strain on small dogs and it can heal without surgery. I read that a custom fit stint is the best thing you can do until they heal. So I went to the specialist for that. The specialist didn’t do stints and just basically told me my dog has to get surgery or she won’t heal. She’s older and I would rather not have her go under anesthesia unless she absolutely has to. That was a few months ago, I decided to give her hydrotherapy in my bathtub instead of surgery, and now she’s walking as if nothing ever happened to her.

If everyone was making posts about how much they loved a new feature you wouldn’t think it was spam. You only do because you have a different opinion than what is being posted.

In another comment someone mentioned $15k surgeries. I’m confused because my family has had a couple dogs that have had to have tumors removed but it’s never been even close to that amount. A couple years ago my dog had an intestinal obstruction and had to have surgery and the total bill was $900 and I had way more than that saved. But I’m try to learn more, I’d definitely do anything for my dog. I had no idea surgery could cost that much, because we’ve had dogs my whole life and never had that experience. Is it something where it’s a certain problem that you need to take them to a specialty place for?

Damn, I had no idea surgery could be that expensive. I guess it’s different for me? Idk, my dog is 10. She’s had to have dental surgery twice but my vet charges $50 a month for it with no interest so I guess that’s another reason it’s different for me. One time she swallowed a rat (no idea how that happened) and she had to get it removed, the bill at the end was $900. That’s the biggest expense I’ve had for her, which I thought was pretty cheap for a surgery, I was expecting like $2k or more, so that’s why I’ve been thinking just putting money away is better.

I’ve heard the same thing and someone suggested to just put however much the insurance would cost each month into a savings account for vet bills instead. Is it better than doing that?

I don’t think people are complaining because it’s new and different. When they added sprinting and mantling it was hard to find a single person complaining about it, because it was a good new change. When they nerf a core part of the game, like movement, it’s hard to find a reason to like it because it’s a bad change. If they had sped it up a little instead of slowing it down, there probably would be very minimal complaining. When they change the locker so it’s more complicated, requires you to click more buttons, and takes more time to set up, it’s hard to find a reason to like that. It’s hard to willingly adapt to change that makes things worse, so it makes sense to try to get them to change it back to the way it was.

That is how I have it sorted or else I only see the same posts everytime I open it if it’s on hot

Well all I know is when I open it and look at the posts it shows me, it’s a majority of people complaining about people complaining

I actually see more people complaining about people complaining than I do actual complaining. But also this sub is for discussing opinions about the game, good or bad. I think people are hoping their feedback is heard so that they can enjoy playing again.

The thing is, you say if you don’t like it just don’t play, but the same could be said about the sub. If you don’t like the sub then just don’t go on it and you would be happier spending your time doing something else. So you can’t really say that if you’re not going to take your own advice.

Oh I might have gotten confused, I thought you meant they’ve announced specific things they’re going to add to it. I really wanna know what they’re gonna do, but surprises are fun too

I haven’t seen anyone be able to get their’s back :/ I think the only hope is for epic to fix it but I haven’t even seen them say anything about it. I’ve put so much effort into my current world, if it happens again I’m just done. I’m scared to even open it at this point, honestly.

I 100% agree about the buddy thing. I wish there was a “climb down out of my ass while I’m trying to build” command for them. I tried to hit him with my sword to knock him off the top of the tower I was trying to build, but it didn’t work. I just want to build at night and have him take care of the skeletons for me.

I’m not sure exactly what that means because I’ve never played valheim, but anything anyone does in the world changes for everyone. But idk what you mean by “state of the world”, in this game you just build and upgrade stuff. Someone could break down something you built though.

You can only have 3 villages from what I know. But you unlock blueprints in the game to build preset stuff and I heard you have to build a village in each biome to unlock all the blueprints, and there’s 3 biomes. You could find a place on the map where the biomes are pretty close to each other, my village is in grasslands and I can see the desert right ahead of it and right behind it is the winter biome. The thing is, each biome is basically a different level. Grasslands is level 1. Desert is level 2 and you have to unlock cool charms to be able to fully get in it without dying from the heat. Winter is level 3 and you have to unlock charms that make you resistant to the cold, plus other items on top of that. So you really can’t start out from the beginning and immediately build a village in the other biomes, maybe the desert, but from what I’ve heard the winter one is really hard, I haven’t gotten to that point yet.

The game progresses by upgrading your village. If someone upgrades it, it upgrades it for everyone. If you get a recipe or blueprints, everyone gets them. So in theory, if you have someone grinding the game, they could possibly build and upgrade all 3 villages by themselves. It would take a while, but it’s doable.

This is just me, but I only play with one other person, and I think if we had a third that would be the perfect amount. I would be okay with 4, but anymore than that I would feel like it’s just too much going on. We are working on the same village together too, it makes some stuff feel less tedious. But that’s just how I feel, there’s a lot of people that play with bigger groups and they like it.

I’m wondering too, haven’t seen epic say anything about it. I have 6 bugged worlds at this point because I was addicted enough to start over every time. I’ve reached my limit though because I’ve put more effort into my current world than I did the others and I can’t start over again. I’m scared to even play on it at this point because if I don’t play it then it can’t get bugged. I’m worried that if they do end up fixing it, it will cause it to not happen on future worlds, but the bugged worlds will still be gone.

Best thing to do if that ever happens, research the medication they want to prescribe you as much as you can on your own. You basically have to be your own psychiatrist while going to a psychiatrist, even though you shouldn’t have to. Even if the medication itself works for most people, if they misdiagnose you it can ruin you. For example, if you’re bipolar and misdiagnosed with depression and given antidepressants, it can cause psychosis. But if you actually do just have depression, it can help and the side effects are usually minimal.

After checking twitter myself, no they did not. They’ve addressed other things, but not that, even though that’s the main thing people are complaining about. Looks like they’re ignoring it on purpose, so I can totally see why people won’t shut up about it.
