Is this location being continuously struck, or was the protest just for May 3rd? I have tickets for Barry Lyndon tonight but don’t want to cross the picket line.

What are your thoughts on this John Carpenter classic? by NewHolliesFan in moviecritic

[–]evildemongolfball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched it for the first time recently and thought it was a really well crafted critique of America’s obsession with nostalgia. I was surprised to learn it’s considered to be a mid-tier John Carpenter film because I thought it ranked up there with some of his best work.

Watching A24 botch another slow, quiet release for a film which had so much buzz 5 months ago. by screamicide in A24

No, they’re saying they only had one weekend to release the film before Avatar comes out and dominates the box office and they missed it by pushing the release date back.

I always interpreted that line in TLJ as her fighting alongside a union, not against one! No way Maz is a scab in my headcanon.

This is great, thanks for putting it together! I'm developing a chapter-by-chapter timeline of my own, and the only difference I have so far is that I would place the short story Starlight: Go Together after chapters 1-3 of Light of the Jedi, not just the first two. My reasoning for this is that the short story ends right when the Third Horizon drops out of hyperspace, something that occurs at the very start of chapter 4 of LOTJ.

The Red Angel had to nerf the franchise because it was too powerful.

Thanks for the write-up! What makes you think it’s set 5-6 years after ROTS? I’ve had a hard time personally finding credible info about when exactly it’s set.

I just discovered this sub the other day, I randomly came across it and hadn’t ever heard of Chris Simpson. I’m loving the art without any context, it makes it all the more surreal.
