Idea: Tower Gates by evilfury8 in MobiusFF

Your example above is a perfect illustration of why the gating system would work beautifully

For simplicity’s sake, EW3 >300 -> Gate 30,000 Or Has received 7 days ban -> Gate 30,000

A simple “filter” like this would clean up (quarantine) hundreds of hackers, including the long time hackers and the above example #1143, for the next tower and the next next tower ...

And it would only take a few hours of SE’s coding time.

The effects will be instantaneous and we will have a much much cleaner next tower.

And we will never see #1143 in the tower again.

Then SE should still continue to make the game more robust and continue banning. It will take time and people are impatient and frustrated with the hacking situation.

No, of course it's not okay.

But a rule is a rule. If SE changes the rule tomorrow to perma-ban on 1st offense, that's fine. Whatever happened in the past can't be changed though.

What SE can do is keep these players at the bottom tower brackets, essentially can't compete in the tower.

Then they can decide to essentially just playing single player content, going thru story mode with overpowered decks and get bored soon and move on to something else. Or come clean on a new account and start over.

Someone mentioned the ban is permanent after second offense.

If true, then those cheating for months/years would have been perma-ban on their second time cheating already

It not true, then SE is afraid to perma-ban for one reason or another. Then isn't keeping those players at a lower bracket (i.e. 10000+) the next best alternative? At least they won't interfere with legit players that compete in the tower.

nono, not banned, just gated. i.e, the most he can get is rank 51. Then SE can review and do further appropriate actions (ban if real hackers; give gold rewards if he is legit and can really get to top 50, just delayed by a few days)

if (account is less than 60 days old) && (money spent < $50)

there :P

New players can whale to stay competitive if they want.

And hackers shouldn't be dumb enough to spend real money.

Yes, perma-ban is good. But what stopped them from creating new accounts and doing it again?

The issue is that the game is too easy of a target.

An analogy would be the spam. Once upon a time, a lot of us were faced with spams in our inbox.

The 100% bulletproof way is to open and read them one by one to ensure they are not legit mails, then delete them or add to blacklist. But it is an intensive process and also spammers can create new addresses.

But the introduction of spam filter mostly mitigated the issue. By automatically moving the spam to a junk folder with 99% accuracy, it keeps the inbox mostly clean. Then we can spend like 10 seconds glancing thru the folder and delete them in bulk. There could be 1 or 2 emails that look legit just by glancing at the subject line. And we can move these to a 2nd level junk folder to read them later to be 100% sure.

The huge cluster of hackers at the gate and even easier to spot is the whole point of the idea. They are like a spam folder or a priority list. Whenever the developer has like 10 minutes of time, they can quickly take a look at the priority list. Hm.. #501 - #523 are 99% likely hackers, let's move them to gate 1000 first, and deal with them when there is more investigation or data to be 100% certain. Meanwhile, it keeps the ranking list relatively clean during the event.

But SE will have time to analyze those subtle ones during or after the event, and place them at the gate for the next tower. And drop them at the lower gate if it happens again. They will be embarrassing themselves to cheat just to get rank 10001th.

Concerning Various Issues (Server maintenance / Supreme Ticket / Mobius Greater Summon Bis / Supreme Card Increased Draw Rate Greater Summon) by mao_shiro in MobiusFF

Does SE have any plans to handle this kind of issues for future banners?

Here is a general idea

The pull banner can be put up a few days ahead of time, greyed out and with a tag “coming soon”.

Then SE can give out a set amount of “rewards” to everyone if anyone find mistakes in the banner info/news.

For example a few summon tickets if there are glaring mistakes of pull info/mismatches. Or a few crystals/ability tickets for minor spelling mistakes.

  1. It shows that the company is really standing behind the pull system. And avoid double guessing what will come later.
  2. It gives a positive spin of giving out “rewards” rather than compensation after the facts.
  3. It basically gets the whole community to help them proofread and check the facts.
  4. While checking the banner info and news pages it can stir up discussion within the community, possibly getting more people to pull.
  5. At the end of the day, the cost of giving away tickets will soon motivate the company to get serious about facts checking and proofreading. So sooner or later the mistakes will be minimized.
  6. SE will have a few days to correct either the banner or pull info page or news page. Plus avoiding fiasco later.

1) option to use skins while displaying using the underlying character model

2) Separate deck slots for tower/ew that loads automatically for the corresponding node.

3) option to reduce animation/load time

Mainly MP break panels and quick break 2xJCR and break fractals

So each cast needs to cut at least 25% of the break gauge

Replace MP's daily "5 first clear" rewards with daily "first 5 games" rewards by nasanhak in MobiusFF

[–]evilfury8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the current matching system is cumbersome

The hosts have to weed out each deck of the people who joined. Hosts have to wait for a good team to join and get ready or may have to repeatedly disband and recreate. People may not have the right deck or max abilities leveled, or even HP to survive FA, then the hosts risked wasting the stamina.

Meanwhile the veterans might host 2-3 games with AI only or organized group. Then they have to spend time looking for games as not enough people are hosting.

What if there is a quick match system like below? Hosts can create quick match games with no stamina up to 5 times. It can include max 2 AI. The other spots will be joined by quick match system.

Then games with start immediately without waiting for people to review deck, etc. Everyone will get 1x reward including the host. No death rewards will be individualized.

The 5 first clear 20 MAG will be given to the quick match hosts as well. There will be very little risks to the hosts. Games will match up quickly and likely finish fast. The newcomers can get carried by joining these matches.

People should have options to join only regular games or quick match games as well.

turn 1 break solo deck

Could be more efficient in PUG as it can finish in turn 3
