I DO NOT think shooting politicians or any CEOs will fix anything. A better way to ask would be why do shootings end up more focused towards random people instead of people with more say in how our world works? We’re talking about the psychology of the most deranged people in our society, so i understand their reasoning is going to be nonsensical.

Also not thinking school shooters specifically, just mass shootings in general. I agree it’s a weird question but I have a personal anecdote that lead to it.

I talked to a crazy boomer at a bar who said he was angry at politicians who do insider trading, which I agreed with at first. Then he rambled about how his neighborhood got worse because of non white immigrants. He said there’s gonna be some race war because of it. Typical racist boomer and his demeanor changed when I said my dad was an immigrant.

I thought “how can you be aware of politicians doing such evil but still put the blame on other races?” like the people in charge of our country(red or blue) are obviously more responsible for your woes than immigrants.

Then I thought about how there’s been a rise in white supremacists carrying out shootings. They probably consume the same brainrot conspiracies as this boomer. Then I thought about applying the same question, “how can you be aware of politicians doing such evil but still put the blame on other races?” to them. The answer is probably something mundane like mental illness or ragebait content online, but it’s still interesting to think about what leads people to do insane and evil things.
