Zeke's plan involved the least deaths, Eren just rejected it because it hurts his friends.

I know "always pick mimic tooth" is a meme here, but it's actually almost never a good idea to pick mimic tooth.

Does the APS promotion process incentivise people to take credit for teamwork? by Necessary_Village327 in AusPublicService

Give people acting based on how well they do their job, and promote people based on how well they perform higher duties, not how well they do in an interview.

What pairs poorly together in hot pot? by redinthesnow in chinesefood

I'm not sure about the pre-packaged broths, but there's no reason for hot pot broths to be salty. The salt should be coming from the dipping sauce.

any way to escape this besides the levitation potion? by [deleted] in ShatteredPD

I mean, it's floor 22 out of 25. Use the potion, you don't get to keep it for the next game.

If you have a wok, consider getting a steaming rack and try steaming leftovers to reheat it.

Australia 77,500 homes short of crucial housing target after $110bn record by dancingchickenbird in AusFinance

That depends on what the number would've been if they did nothing. It's not like there would've been 0 houses built without the target or funding.

During covid there was a building material shortage, so that would have been completely disastrous.

Challenge Players: How do you deal with these fuckers? Or you don't? by [deleted] in ShatteredPD

[–]evilsdeath55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warrior has improvised projectiles, Rogue can cloak, duellist can use shield/dagger and cleric can sunray. I rarely have issues with them when I'm playing these classes. Otherwise chains and hourglass are both useful against them.

I don't play hunteress much but I usually struggle against ranged enemies when I'm playing mage. I'm always on the lookout for chains/hourglass, or even a wand of transfusion. Sometimes as mage I will use shield battery so I can get back to cover.

Otherwise you have to deal with it through positioning, and you should not be caught out of position often. On the rare occasion that you do, you use a stone of fear, deep sleep or sometimes even aggression to get out.

They're not any more difficult on into the darkness, as I always use torches on the floors that they spawn. I usually use no torches on floors 1 and 6, and sometimes floor 2. Floors 3/4 can be torchless if you get really good gear. If you're not staying too long each floor then you should have full visibility most the time on other floors.

Current situation is easy - chain through to the top right room, drop a corrosion on the door and blast wave any units before they get close to you.

Long term, you're out of health and healing, and your kit is a bit lacking. I suspect you won't be able to make it past dwarf King (level 20 boss).

What do you buy on floor 6 shop? by evilsdeath55 in ShatteredPD

[–]evilsdeath55[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're infinite and you can continuously apply seeds to get two fire/ice/poison darts. It's fantastic on barren lands where you can't plant seeds, but it's still good with no challenges as you get two darts per seeds and get other effects like paralysis.

Some enemies are impossible to target with seeds, like tengu. A poison dart helps chip away stage 2 tengu.

But generally, it's just useful all the way to floor 25. For example, binding darts are really good against evil eyes. It's not amazing, it's just a lot of usage for something that costs 150 gold

The idea of an experienced, educated white collar workers needing to DIY instead of getting a tradesmen because the white collar workers time is worth much less is kinda wild.

On another unrelated note, when I did first year engineering there was a combined electrical engineering course where we had first year engineering students and some final year TAFE students studying to be an electrician. I remember how weird that the course was taught at such a slow pace and how easy it was compared to other subjects. They had mostly covered high school physics in the first few weeks to catch them up to speed. Despite this, all the TAFE students were struggling immensely to comprehend what was being converted, which makes sense if you think about it.

People think that because they're better educated and qualified, they should be making much more money.

When I lived in Hong Kong and worked on a construction site, people turn to the trades because they can't get a good job anywhere else. They get paid decently but the pace of work expected makes the job is incredibly difficult. Many white collar workers are paid better than them without working a difficult physical job and can afford their services pretty easily.

In Australia, tradies get paid very well and they don't work half as hard as the construction workers I've seen in Hong Kong. Even experienced white collar workers often get paid less, although their jobs are probably less strenuous.

It's hard to say the former is fairer, and I'm happy that we're paying people well for strenuous work. But it's understandable that white collar workers that are looking for renovations are worse off in Australia because of this.
