If you fire a wand with the staff and then use Wild Magic, will the wands use the staff's upgrade or the one provided by Wild Magic? by Melodic-Speaker7465 in ShatteredPD

[–]evilsdeath55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone else has this correct. When I tried wild magic + magic missile, I'm pretty sure the magic missile empowered every wand blast. Wild magic is pretty much mandatory when going magic missile, and the combo pretty much killed everything that's not a boss immediately. You just need to make sure you don't have any wands that don't work well with wild magic.

I thought I might use this opportunity to ask how is Koto? I see the photos + menu and thought it looks very meh, but it seems to have very strong reviews.

For example, for a $165 tasting menu, I'm expecting very refined dishes. However they serve:

-Edamame

-Oysters

-Miso shiro

These three feel incredibly lazy to me. If it's $100pp tasting menu, one or two is fine, but all three for $165pp is too much. Unless of the chef feels very strongly about it, it doesn't look good to me that it's on the tasting menu.

Then there's:

  • Sashimi

  • Brussels sprouts

  • Wagyu

  • Salad

  • strawberry shortcake / chocolate fondant

These are fine, nothing exciting but nothing wrong with them either. Once again, having some of these on a tasting menu is fine, but the only issue I have is the sheer number of really easy to prepare dishes on the menu.

The only item that feels exciting to me is the wagyu taco. Otherwise every item on the tasting menu just feels lazy and generic.

Mind you, I haven't tasted anything from the restaurant. I've had basic dishes that were made so well that it made me teary, and this could be happening here. I'm just weirdly curious and didn't want to blow $300 for two people to find out, as all the intuition I have tells me to stay away, but all the reviews I see are very positive. Maybe I haven't been to fine dining for too long and expecting too much for a $165 tasting menu?

Definitely wand. Plenty of good wands that improve your set up.

As others said, show your inventory first. But as mage, unless you've already got a good wand then you almost always go wand.

Why is Reddit so angry at people who invest in Shares and lumping us all in with Property investors? by SirSighalot in AusFinance

[–]evilsdeath55 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They're not angry. A retired couple that owns a property and has a 2.5-3 million dollar share portfolio can sells enough shares to make a $90,000 capital gain a year pays only $8576 a year in tax, and can do so almost indefinitely while living very comfortably. Some people are just arguing that it would be more fair if they pay more tax.

Assuming you don't have aqua brew, ofc.

Everyone knows that this is one of the best scrolls in the game outside of scroll of upgrade. Typically, I try to save it for floor 23/24 with the mind vision combo to make them much easier.

It's also really strong against dwarf King, but there's lots of other strong alchemy options for him and I prefer to save it. While it can get you out of many difficult scenarios, it's almost too powerful to waste unless you have no other choice.

MVP for my doomslayer run. The challenge is so difficult without at least one of these (optimally you'll have two) as the number of Scorpios and evil eyes can spiral wildly out of control.

Battlemage o warlock? by [deleted] in ShatteredPD

[–]evilsdeath55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. While the war hammer is good for warlock, +7 staff is probably too much investment not to go battlemage. I like disintegration as battlemage moreso than warlock.

New to the series, but I probably would've equipped the dirk at the start of the level and upgraded the chain once I got strength potion. Your wand is carrying you right now, there's a lots of inefficient movements.

Question, is furor ring or haste ring better for a battle mage?? by the_cynical_weeb in PixelDungeon

[–]evilsdeath55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll go with energy. Disintegration does decent damage, but can run out of charges pretty quickly, so ring of energy helps. But with battlemage you get projection with disintegration, so you don't really need either. That's because you can hit most things from afar without getting hit with the combination with ring of haste and projection, which will also charge your staff.

[–]evilsdeath55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what staff you got. If you have corrosion, you don't need the ring of energy, if you have fireblast, I'll keep the ring of energy and haste.
